You need to walk before you run……but in this case the Blues and Gospel Explosion (www.bluesandgospelexplosion.com) which started fast, and continues to gain momentum.
The three day event scheduled for April 12-14, is being moved to the fall to accommodate additional artists, non-profits and sponsors.
Event Organizer, Dan Vasquez has indicated that “the Blues and Gospel Explosion has generated a substantial buzz on the radio and music waves of our community. To date a number of non-profits from Wayne County Sheriff’s Youth and Senior Group, to Easter Michigan University, to the Reading Works Program, to Rhema International and the Yellow Fund are having the opportunity to have some FUN with their Fundraising Programs”.
Dan Vasquez also indicated to date while more than 30 Blues Groups and 7 Gospel performers have been booked, more than 40 have had to be put on hold to next year unless we accommodate the additional interest. The Buzz has also generated a number of interests from additional sponsors, to collaborate with our existing sponsor Zim’s Polish Vodka to create an even larger and better event”.
In addition to moving to the fall date we will also to continue to participate and co-sponsor Blues Showcases through-out the city and continue our strong support for the Detroit Blues Society and our quest to promote for more venue’s to showcase Detroit’s musicians and artist.
To accommodate the additional sponsors, to allow for additional time for our participating non-profits to reach out to their constituents, to add additional staging and artists, and accommodate our additional new sponsor promotion and support plans we have chosen to reschedule the three day Blues and Gospel Explosion to the fall.
