also host the Haus WeRK and AfroDeziak podcasts, which have over 90 episodes. In these podcasts, I drop mixes and take you on a journey through the global house community. Every track and every episode is about honoring history, creating energy, and uniting people on the dancefloor and beyond.

MJ already had mixed feelings about the tour itself. He mainly agreed to do it to support his brothers and family. By that point he was already exploding from Thriller and honestly did not want a standard Jacksons reunion run. Then ticket scalping and expensive package requirements made it worse.

A lot of fans had to buy 4 ticket minimum bundles in some markets. Prices in 1984 dollars were already high. Adjusted for today, some people basically paid hundreds and hundreds of dollars just to get decent seats. Sound familiar? Same concert industry nonsense, just with less internet and more newspaper ads.

MJ also got frustrated because:

* fans blamed him personally for prices
* promoters pushed the tour commercially
* Pepsi sponsorship drama overshadowed music
* he wanted more artistic control

After the tour he pretty much distanced himself from doing large family tours again. He donated a huge portion of his tour earnings to charity too, which people forget. Classic MJ move, massive superstar, hated the business side.

In 1994, Michael Jackson met a 4-year-old boy named Bela in a children’s hospital in Budapest. The child had been there since birth, abandoned by his mother and rarely visited by his father. He was suffering from a severe liver disease and was given only a year to live without a transplant.
Hospitals in Hungary didn’t have the equipment needed, and the surgery had to be done abroad-costing around $120,000.
Michael and Lisa Marie were so moved that they came back the very next day to spend more time with him. Soon after, Michael covered the entire cost of the transplant through his Heal the World Foundation.
