What an incredible Evening of Fine Arts. The John R King Concert Band represented our school at the highest level. The student’s performance was outstanding and a result of extremely hard work all year long. Thank you to the students for their passion and commitment. Thank you to the parents and families for their continuous support of their talented children. None of this is possible without you. We are mighty Titans at JRK 💪 🎺 🎶

The next two weeks are big for our program. An Evening of Fine Arts is next Thursday May 18th, and our spring concert is the week after that, on Thursday May 25. EFA tickets are free but must be reserved online in advance. Tickets for our spring concert go on sale next week. $5 for adults and children under 18 are free. Ticket order forms will be sent home with students next week. Support our students and get your tickets to both concerts!

Thanks to all the students and parents who participated in MSBOA Band Festival today. The band performed very well and the judges rewarded their efforts with a Division 1 Superior rating! What a milestone for our program. Now we prepare for our spring instrumental showcase in May! Details to come.

It’s festival week! We are finalizing our preparations for Saturday and look forward to participating in our first MSBOA Band Festival. We have been working hard on our three prepared pieces and will perform on stage at Renaissance High School at 8:30 am. After the performance, the band will leave stage and enter the sight reading room. There we will have just 5 minutes to read and perform music we have never seen before. Festival is a great educational experience for young instrumental musicians. This event is important for us, so please ensure students are in school on time every day this week, and that all band members arrive at JRK at 7 am on Saturday so we are not late. We hope to see you there supporting our students!
