So much has happened since I last posted: a new year is here and I gave birth to my second child (another baby girl). Still whenever I can I find the time to sketch, work on a painting, or visit an art exhibition. Here is the painting I am working on now.

After nearly a year of starting this painting, only now do I have the time to work on it.

I started what will soon be a painting (image 1). I am trying out new shapes and new colours.

I have two reasons for posting less and they are in images 2 and 3.

I am incredibly tired and incredibly happy. Looking forward to see if this new life will have an impact in my art.

It started with a sketch. Not sure what it is or where it came from. Later I made the same sketch in a canvas. Took me a while to figure out which colours to use but finally I did. First finished painting of 2023. Now I have to think of a title for this piece, any ideas?

Is it a flower? A compass? A star? I don’t know, may be either. Just trying to work on it and find out what it is.

I pulled a 180 on this painting l. Something just didn’t feel right. So I had to look somewhere deep inside of me to find what felt right. I wanted blue and purple with a cadmium yellow background. I wanted texture (images 3-5). On image 5 and 6 you can see what it looked like previously. Which is your favorite image 1 (current) or image 6 (previous)?

Hi everyone! Happy . Today I am working on this piece and it is more like re-working it. The yellow of the background didn’t feel right so I changed it. I added sap green which I had not initially planned to. Spend more time looking at the piece and asking myself if it felt right and once I was not getting any ideas in my mind of where to go I stopped. For every artist the process is different. For me the painting has to exist in my mind before it exists on canvas.

Hi everyone! I visited the and spend hours enjoying the works of art I found there. The permanent collection has Van Gogh, Gauguin and Picasso. Also the Diego Rivera mural is impressive. There was a temporary exhibition titled by her hand that uncovered the works of female artists from the 1500 to 1800. Have you ever been to this museum?

On a day like today I started using a gift I had received from my husband. I will let you go through the images and figure what it is. Clue: very useful for making paintings.

For today’s I am highlighting the brushstrokes of my art pieces. Which texture do you like best?
