Tonight - Monday August 25th @ 7:00 pm - we round out our Chronos & Kairos summer series with a staged reading of Canadian playwright, Erin Shields’s play, “If We Were Birds.”

Directed by Laura Quigley and featuring a cast of 10, RC Rep is proud to present this powerful, award-winning story that “examines the horrors of war…placing a spotlight on millions of female victims who have been silenced through violence. A deeply affecting and thought-provoking re-imagining of Ovid’s masterpiece “Tereus, Procne, and Philomela,” the play is an unflinching commentary on contemporary war and its aftermath delivered through the lens of Greek tragedy.

“If We Were Birds” is also the second play in our Canada Project staged reading initiative, introducing Michigan audiences to contemporary Canadian theatre.

Thank you to everyone who came out to see “Oedipus the King” this past weekend. It was a great kick off to our Chronos and Kairos summer series!

And to all the fabulous artists who participated - we are filled with immense pride and gratitude for your work.

This week we open “Hungry” by Charalampos Giannou. A dark comedy with farcical underpinnings, RC Rep feels privileged to be introducing both Giannou and his play to North American audiences. There are five opportunities to see the production!
