This morning, one of our very own from the Pride of Destrehan will take the national stage, performing with the Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! We couldn’t be more excited to cheer him on as he represents our school and community in one of the country’s most iconic holiday traditions.

Senior Jacob Resalsingh has spent the past two summers marching mellophone with the Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps, the 2024 & 2025 DCI Open Class Champion Spartans. He is also a three-year LMEA All-State clarinetist and earned a Superior rating and Gold Medal at last year’s LMEA State Solo Contest. His performance was even selected for the Virtual State Solo & Small Ensemble Honors Recital Performance Video, showcasing the very best young musicians in Louisiana.

As we enter Thanksgiving and this season of gratitude, we want to recognize and express our deepest thanks to Jackson Moore for his time and dedication to the Pride of Destrehan. You have given us four years of unforgettable music, spirited performances, and unwavering rhythm. We are thankful for the foundation you provided the battery percussion line. Your commitment is a gift that will keep echoing long after today.

Congratulations to the Pride of Destrehan Band and Pridettes for their final competition performance Monday at the Louisiana Marching Band State Championships. The band was one of the 16 bands that competed in Class 3C. The Percussion, Color Guard, and Overall Band earned a Superior rating, the highest achievement an ensemble can earn. Additionally, the Percussion secured 1st place overall in the class, and the Overall Band earned 4th place, only missing 3rd place by less than 0.1 (a tenth) of a point.

We are very proud of your efforts and your representation of our school! Congratulations on a SUPERIOR season.
