Our Little Red Church is so special!! Thank you to the Archbishop for coming celebrate with our community🤍⛪️

On Sunday, Archbishop Checchio visited St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Destrehan for Mass. Did you know that St. Charles Borromeo was established up river from New Orleans in 1723, making it one of the oldest parishes in the Archdiocese of New Orleans? It was founded to minister to the German Coast settlers in what is now known as the River Parishes. For years, it was known as the "Little Red Church" and even provided an important marker for those traveling the Mississippi River by boat. Today, St. Charles Borromeo Parish ministers to the people on the East Bank of St. Charles Parish and is the only Catholic parish school educating children in preK through 7th grade.

Today, we celebrate 250 years of the freedoms we cherish, the community that brings us together, and the many blessings we share. We hope your day is filled with family, friends, great food, and unforgettable memories.

As we celebrate America’s birthday, we’re also looking forward to gathering with all of you at the next Little Red Church Food & Fun Festival. Thank you for being part of what makes our festival and community so special!

Okay but like the 44th Annual Fest JUST ended and we’re already starting to talk about next year?!! Planning and preparation never sleeps!🥱⛪️🙌

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Festival Committee and help plan one of Destrehan’s favorite traditions! Whether you’re interested in social media, sponsorships, entertainment, food & beverage, logistics, volunteer coordination, or another area; there’s a place for you.

📅 Interest Meeting: Tuesday, July 28th
🕡 Time: 6:30 PM
📍 Location: 1st Floor of the Youth Center (13396 River Road)

No experience necessary—just a willingness to help and a love for our community! Come learn about the many ways you can get involved and help make the 2027 festival the best one yet.

WHAT. A. WEEKEND. 🙌👏

Even with a rainy start and Friday night’s cancellation, this weekend turned out nothing short of incredible♥️

To our amazing volunteers and generous sponsors — thank you for showing up, stepping up, and making it all happen. From early mornings to late nights, your dedication is what keeps this festival going strong year after year. Because of you, the rest of the weekend was filled with great food, music, laughter, and community. We are so grateful for each and every one of you who helped turn things around and make it such a success.
