Best known as the legendary voice of Optimus Prime in Transformers, Peter Cullen lent his unmistakable voice to countless characters across a career spanning decades. ✨ 💙

Perhaps lesser known to Star Wars fans, Cullen also narrated the classic Buena Vista read-along adaptations of the Original Trilogy, beginning with Star Wars in 1979 and continuing with The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. His voice became part of the Star Wars experience for an entire generation growing up with those records and cassettes. 🌌 📖🎙️

Happy 58th birthday to Billy Boyd, the man who gave Peregrin “Pippin” Took so much humor, heart and unexpected courage throughout The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Pippin begins the story as one of the Fellowship’s most mischievous members, constantly finding trouble and giving us some of the films’ funniest moments. But as the journey grows darker, Billy Boyd allows the character to mature without ever losing the warmth that made him so lovable.

From his friendship with Merry to his bond with Gandalf, Pippin eventually becomes far more than comic relief. His haunting performance of “The Edge of Night” remains one of the most unforgettable moments in The Return of the King, perfectly capturing the sadness and uncertainty surrounding the war.

More than two decades later, Boyd still shares a wonderful friendship with his fellow Hobbits and remains deeply connected to the LOTR community.

Happy 58th birthday to a true member of the Fellowship.
