As Iowa's only resident ballet company, our mission is to enrich lives through inspiring dance performances, inclusive education and outreach programs, and innovative community partnerships. We want to keep this a fun, welcoming, informative space for dance fans of all ages, so let's treat everyone with respect. Ballet Des Moines reserves the right to remove any posts that we believe don’t adhere to our guidelines, and to block anyone who violates them repeatedly. Throwback to some of our favorite moments from past Balletomane Private Rehearsals ✨

Balletomane Society Members enjoy a full year of exclusive events and experiences, including private rehearsals, backstage tours, and Opening Night Parties. On September 16, Balletomane members will have the opportunity to mingle with the Artists of BDM and see an exclusive preview of Ghost Stories, featuring resident choreographer Tom Mattingly, at our first Balletomane Private Rehearsal of the 26/27 season.

THREE SHOW SEASON TICKET PACKAGE 👻🌈🎶

New this season, season ticket holders can also choose from a 3-Show package including Ghost Stories, New Voices, and American Songbook.

👻 Ghost Stories, featuring new works by Resident Choreographer Tom Mattingly, visiting choreographer Adriana Pierce, excerpts from Giselle, the Belin Quartet, Billy Weathers and more.

🌈 New Voices showcases the BDM Choreographic Institute winner, a world premiere by guest choreographer Keelan Whitmore, work from Artistic Director Eric Trope and featuring the 26/27 Artist-in-Residence.

🎶 American Songbook includes the midwest premiere of Blue Until June by Trey McIntyre, set to the music of Etta James, Last Dance At the Surf, inspired by the music of Buddy Holly,

We’re joining the Des Moines Symphony this afternoon for a family festival and concert featuring movie music at Des Moines Water Works Park. Join dancers from Ballet Des Moines for a free all-community dance class at 4:30pm in front of the Lauridsen Amphitheater Stage!

MATTINGLY MASTERCLASS: ONE WEEK FROM TODAY 🐦‍⬛

Step into the world of Nevermore, an upcoming world premiere featuring a blend of contemporary and classical dance technique. During this workshop, dancers will learn choreography directly from the production, primarily focusing on solo work, with opportunities to work in pairs as well. No partner is needed to attend—there will be plenty of friendly faces to dance with.
