🚨 TRANSITION OF THE WEEK 🚨
When you're DJing a wedding reception, sometimes the goal isn't to completely change the vibe.
Sometimes it's about taking a packed dance floor and giving people exactly what they didn't know they wanted next.
At a wedding reception at the stunning Rollins Mansion in Des Moines, I mixed Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry directly into Brick House by Commodores for a seamless funk-to-funk transition that kept the dance floor moving all night long.
This is one of my favorite examples of how great wedding DJing isn't just about song selection—it's about energy management.
Both records are iconic.
Both records are dance floor favorites.
But the transition between them is what keeps momentum alive.
The best wedding receptions feel effortless to guests, but behind the scenes every transition, every tempo change, and every song choice is intentional.
As a professional wedding DJ, my goal is always to create a reception where guests never feel the energy dip. From classic funk and Motown favorites to today's biggest dance hits, every mix is designed to keep people celebrating from the first dance until the last song.
Rollins Mansion provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night filled with great music, packed dance floors, and nonstop energy.
