Hello there! We’ve got so many new friends who’ve been “liking” us lately. And… well- we are certainly appreciative! The thing is; we’ve been on a ‘break’ for like… 3 years now.
We think you might be looking for our friends in Seattle; Kat Robichaud's Misfit Cabaret!

We are Felicia, Iowa Fly Girl and Leo LaFlash of Des Moines, Iowa! We’re both doing our own fabulous things still (and sometimes together!) but we’ve put our baby, Misfit Cabaret, on the back burner for the time being. 😘

Hey Misfit! Some of you may know our good friend and A/V tech Joshua Jepson (who is often sequestered in the darkness of the tech booth). Josh has a little boy (Lee) at home battling leukemia.

As you can imagine the costs to care for a sick child go far beyond what even the best insurances can offer. Traveling to doctors appointments, mom and dad missing work, hotel stays, eating on the go, and so much more.

If you have a few dollars to spare this hard working family could use the extra support during this difficult time. 🖤

This weekend! Come support Cirque Wonderland Studios

I think most of you know that I own, operate, and coach at Cirque Wonderland Studios in Valley Junction, WDM, IA and that we are growing! This studio is my pride and joy and I'm so honored to be able to share this space with so many other talented artists.

After our expansion we will have over 2,000 sqft of foam padded aerial/acrobatic studio space, three additional movement and dances spaces on the lower level, an additional 150 sqft added to the lofted dance studio, a designated gear/prop room off the main studio, more adjustable rig points, and a new and improved theater design for shows and events! This will allow us to support a wider variety of movement artists and expand our youth and adult circus programming!

Consider supporting our efforts and growth by attending one of our two fundraisers this Saturday! The family friendly Circus Carnival is from noon to 4:00 PM outside and Cirque After Dark is inside from 7:00 - 11:00 PM inside (get a sneak peek behind the curtain!)

Specifically 1) two more rolls of carpet bonded foam flooring ∙∙$1,500∙∙ 2) laminate semi-sprung dance floor in new studio ∙∙$2,000∙∙ 3) paint ∙∙$500∙∙ 4) theater curtains ∙∙$500∙∙ 5) building walls to expand loft studio and gear/prop room ∙∙$1,000∙∙ 6) electrical & lighting upgrades ∙∙???∙∙ 7) and sooooo much more!!

After 5 FABULOUS years, Misfit Cabaret creators and producers, Leo LaFlash and Iowa Fly Girl (Felicia), have decided to take a break from Misfit for a while. How long? We dunno yet.

If you've been paying attention you've noticed Leo and Felicia taking on countless projects, shows, events, and responsibilities: Leo's Lounge of Burlesque has been slaying monthly shows for over a year and Cirque Wonderland Studios just celebrated their first year in Valley Junction. These alone are two huge undertakings, but there are many many more that we want to focus on.

We will continue to use this platform to shamelessly promote ourselves as well as other shows in the area that we think you might enjoy, so don't go too far!

We are proud of the opportunities we've provided to hundreds of artists and fans in these years and we are eternally grateful for the unwavering support we've received!

Stoner Theater will host a rockin’ evening of shimmy shaking entertainment. The event will be held 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday,July 6th, 2019. This event is for adults ages 18 and older.

Local burlesque stars team up with local rock & blues band The Other Brothers for an evening that you won’t soon forget! Great tunes and gorgeous gals!

“I selected The Other Brothers because their gritty sound and fun beats,” Leo LaFlash said, “I wanted to create a show that paid homage to the burlesque eras past with a modern twist. And many local performers are big fans of the band, so a burlesque and rock band collaboration with Other Brothers was really a no-brainer”.

In addition to Leo LaFlash, the show will also feature performances by burlesque performers Hester Mofet, M’Lady Rae, Ebony Reign, and Mae the Force. The show also includes Chicago based pole dancer, Anna May!

Joining the cast of Summer Lovin' : Ro & Brent! Ro and Brent each got involved in partner acrobatics around five years ago. They have been practicing together since 2017 and started performing this year. Both are Des Moines area natives and residents, and Brent is a handstand and acro coach at Cirque Wonderland Studios in West Des Moines.
