Thanks for sharing my work! This piece from my senior show and is of my brother at a triathlon. 🚲

While at the Des Moines Arts Festival, maybe you saw the work of Kayla Bates Art as one of the nine honored Emerging Artists. She's an art teacher in DMPS system and a member of our yoga program.

She uses the interesting and controlled process of stippling combined with calligraphy, so at first glance, it seems like a simple drawing until it draws you in to look more closely. The subtleties and details of each piece collectively represent a powerful message of our layers as human beings and how we shouldn't hide them.
