Made another batch of travel mugs! I feel like I’m getting better with the height for these. My goal is to throw to 9.5 inches tall before i recess the galley for the lid. I also need them to be narrow enough to fit and tall enough that they can sit in the cup holder and still have a decent handle. These dry slowly so I can make mini adjustments to make sure the lid will fit properly. Excited to make some more of these and see how much more I can refine them.

Idk how many I’ve made yet but I’ve got a long ways to go. These will all go with me to Chriskindle the first weekend of December.

One hour of work = 16 successful ornaments thrown with 2 or 3 getting scrapped. I had all my clay prepped and all ready to go.

I worked late Thursday to get another load of work fired. These bowls were my favorite. Loved how the bowl in the middle turned out. Excited to do more frozen pond techniques! Downtown today and my next show is Indianola Art Festival on September 20th where I’ll be demonstrating throwing on my wheel.

Anyone know anyone that wants a kitty? I love my rural life but it comes with strays people dump! He’s about 14 weeks I would guess. Super sweet but I already have 4 so… he’s been a cute distraction. Got some pumpkin lanterns, oil bottles and bowls thrown today that I’ll finish up tomorrow.

Restocked on clay-500 lbs. Threw a couple oil bottles only to carve through both. I somehow managed to get another load of work made for downtown on Saturday. Excited for this batch of mugs, a new glaze a sparkly vase (in the kiln now).

Some new work from a batch I managed to get made since last Saturday. Having issues with warping on my bigger stuff-thought I had it resolved with a slower firing but no. Got some research to do. I’m downtown again this Saturday!

Feeling mostly recovered from the weekend! Big thanks to Reiman Gardens for hosting a great show! Came home with 2 new metal flowers for my work in progress flowerbed.
