Today, we honor the life, legacy, and birthday of Jerry Bird — the visionary founder of USofA Pageants. His unwavering passion for pageantry and commitment to creating a platform rooted in talent and inclusivity continue to inspire generations. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit shines through every crown, every stage, and every dream that defines the USofA journey.

We are thrilled to welcome Anjila Cavalier, Miss Gay Iowa USofA 1999, as our new state promoter for Miss Gay Iowa USofA At Large to be held in April 2026 at Club Basix in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Anjila brings a legacy of excellence and passion to the Iowa team, and we couldn't be more excited for the incredible journey ahead as this returning division will offer additional choices for our plus-size entertainers!

We are thrilled to kick off the newest reign of Miss Gay Iowa USofA with the latest edition of MGI Mondays! Normally, this spotlight belongs to our new reigning queen, but today—during her brief and unannounced social media absence—the honor falls to me, Ross Wallace, your Miss Gay Iowa USofA Promoter.

Over the past week since the pageant, I’ve had the privilege of spending time with our incredible community, and let me tell you—I am blown away. The energy, the excitement, and the closeness among all the contestants and supporters have been nothing short of inspiring. From the ladies who graced the stage with their talent and dedication to the fans who showed up to cheer them on, the love for the art of drag was palpable.

What’s even more exciting? Many of these phenomenal entertainers are already planning their return for next year and mapping out their path to qualification. That level of passion and commitment is what makes Iowa USofA so special! To all of our Iowa queens, we would love for you to be part of our family! Your first opportunity to secure your ticket to Miss Gay Iowa USofA 2027 will be on January 31, 2026 at Basix.
