Durham native and York Maine resident, Joyce Andersen, has carved out an impressive national reputation as a soloist and also with her husband, the virtuoso acoustic guitarist, Harvey Reid. She has appeared on nationally syndicate radio such as NPR's Acoustic Cafe and accompanied England's Richard Thompson in concert as well as shared the stage with others such as Jerry Douglas and Peter Rowan to name just a couple.

Taking the cello where it has never been before, the Carmel, CA native, Rushad Eggleston, attended Berklee College in the earliest part of the 21st century where he formed the major ground-breaking progressive Americana string band, Crooked Still w/ Aoife O'Donovan. When not soloing he has accompanied some of the finest known roots fiddlers such as Natalie MacMaster, Darol Anger and Hanneke Cassel. He has also been a member of the super string ensemble Republic Of Strings with Darol Anger and Scott Nygaard.

Twenty eight years ago, Senie and his twin sister were adopted as infants in Sierra Leone and raised in New Hampshire. He first heard the music within him while in middle school and now actively tours throughout the year from his home in Nashville. Come and enjoy this wildly creative and original musician's first Newburyport performance in the intimate upper room overlooking the Merrimack and enjoy scratch kitchen Southeast Asian street food and craft beverages.

The amazing Guthrie legacy is now in its third generation and the tradition is being continued in a woman's voice thanks to Sarah Lee. Her grandfather Woody Guthrie is pretty much the most revered figure in 20th century folk music and her dad, Arlo, has never let us forget how much fun it was to grow up as hippies.
Many of us first saw and heard Sarah Lee when as a teenager she toured as a member of her dad's band. She soon started her solo career and eventually teamed up with guitarist Johnny Irion who became her husband. She has recorded several acclaimed albums with producers such as Wilco's Jeff Tweedy. She also took some time to raise a family. And she is now the director of The Guthrie Center in Great Barrington, MA which is located in the church that as the song goes was the home of Alice of Alice's Restaurant.
So, we've gotten anything we wanted. The Guthrie legacy continues in its third generation.

These South Berwick and Farmington, Maine natives grew up together in the Maine summer music camps and formed the band while studying at Berklee and Dartmouth. They are receiving considerable national attention with the new album, and we are very excited to have the opportunity to present these dynamic women on one of their very limited live shows this summer in the beautiful grotto of this vintage hippie music club. We welcome them for their new release Shame And Sedition on the Smithsonian Folkways label

Celebrating the tercentenary of the founding of the country's first Scots-Irish settlement. In addition to featuring Ireland's premier vocalist and founding member of the Irish super group Solas, Karan Casey, the cast includes Scottish National Fiddle Champion Hanneke Cassel and other world class fiddlers such as Lissa Schneckenburger and Katie McNally all playing fiddles crafted by master violin maker Bob Childs.The extraordinary innovative traditional dancer Maureen Barry who was featured in a video produced by Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones will also be joining the ensemble.

Childsplay has featured some of the leading virtuosos in traditional and contemporary fiddle music. Its two dozen plus musicians come from all over the United States and Sweden and represent the fiddle traditions of Ireland, Cape Breton, Québec, Scotland, Appalachia, Scandinavia, and New England.

Named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the Top 20 Guitarists of All Time, Richard Thompson is also one of the world's most critically acclaimed and prolific songwriters. He has received Lifetime Achievement Awards for Songwriting on both sides of the Atlantic-from the Americanas in Nashville to Britain's BBC Awards, and the prestigious Ivor Novellos. In 2011 Thompson was the recipient of the OBE (Order of the British Empire) personally bestowed upon him by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. Most recently he was nominated for "Artist of the Year" by the Americana Music Honors & Awards.

Having co-founded the groundbreaking group Fairport Convention as a teenager in the 60's,Richard Thompson and his mates virtually invented British Folk Rock. By the age of 21 he left the band to pursue his own career, followed by a decade long musical partnership with his then-wife Linda, to over 30 years as a highly successful solo artist. A wide range of musicians have recorded Thompson's music including Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, REM, Del McCoury, Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, David Byrne, Don Henley and many others.
