Instead of grouping students strictly by age, we will now be grouping students by LEVEL.
I have attached pictures of each level’s skill sheet in Band so you can see exactly what skills we will be working toward at each level. When you create your Studio-Pro account, please follow the link & join Band as well!
📚 WHAT LEVEL SHOULD MY DANCER BE IN?
If you are unsure which level to enroll your dancer in, simply enroll them in the level that corresponds with the class they were previously enrolled in.
We have the same number of levels as we had classes last semester, so you do NOT need to figure out your dancer’s new placement on your own!
We will let you know individually if your dancer needs to be placed in a different level. Our instructors will also be making adjustments during the first week of classes as we evaluate dancers and get everyone accustomed to our new placement expectations.
For reference:
Beg. Mini (ages 3 & 4) → Level 1
Adv. Mini (ages 5 & 6) → Level 2
Petite (ages 7 & 8)→ Level 3
Junior (ages 9 & 10) → Level 4
Preteen/Teen (ages 11-14) → Level 5
Senior (ages 15 & up) → Level 6
🎀 LEVELS ARE ALSO STYLE-SPECIFIC!
One VERY important thing to understand is that dancers will be assessed based on their level in each individual style of dance.
For example:
If a dancer has mastered the Level 1 Ballet skills but is still working toward the Level 1 Tap skills, they could be:
Level 2 Ballet + Level 1 Tap
This allows us to meet each dancer where they are in each style rather than expecting them to be at the exact same level across every style.
