🚨 PSA for Small Business Owners — Venmo Scam Attempt 🚨

Wanted to share a quick heads up for other small business owners in case this helps someone avoid getting burned.

We recently had someone attempt a Venmo scam targeting our business. What made it concerning is they weren’t just random — they actually knew details about our business, our model, and how we operate. It was very convincing at first glance.

Thankfully, our team sniffed this out pretty quickly and something just didn’t feel right, so we paused and verified everything before anything went through. It turned out to be a scam attempt.

Just a reminder: scammers are getting more sophisticated and do their homework. They had a venmo user + a venmo customer support on the gig.

A few reminders:

-Always double-check payment requests, even if they “sound” legit This was a rental booking payment being held and then they request to send you more money to release it and for you to send them money back.
-Don’t rely on familiarity alone — scammers can research your business
-Slow down and verify through known contacts or official channels
-Trust your gut when something feels off

Sharing this so others stay alert. There are some truly terrible people out there targeting small businesses right now.
