An eclipse is the obscuration of light. To deny the truth is to dim the light. When we ban truth, censor it, silence it, reduce it, diminish it, we eclipse the light of the truth but eventually that which obscures the light passes, and the splendor of truth is revealed. An eclipse is temporary, but truth is eternal. When we know the truth, the truth makes us free. The way of the storyteller is to not waiver from telling the story, no matter what obscures the light of the story, until that which is blocking the light passes.
Sometimes we block our own light, and censor our own truth, sometimes it is others who are fearful of what the light will reveal, and sometimes it’s the environment that perpetuates darkness. If our story is rooted in truth, it cannot be denied, and the truth comes to light to emancipate us from darkness. Speaking your truth is a requirement of self development. As we develop ourselves, we magnify the truth that begins to have an impact on others, giving them the motivation, permission, inspiration, whatever it is they need to speak their truth as well. A community of people who can speak and live their truth interdependently manifests a culture that values self determination over social constructs, creating the environment of endless possibility.
There is an agenda to eclipse the truth of some, in order to magnify the mythology of darkness for the benefit of a few. Our school curriculums are eclipsed, as well as the truth of our justice system, economic opportunities, and the reality of our healthcare system. Truth is blocked out, and prevents the light from giving the necessary energy for growth and adaptation. The only thing necessary is that we continue to shine the light of truth no matter what until that which blocks out the light passes. Don’t stop shining. Speak your truth, endure the eclipse and let the light of your emancipation story be told.
