Congratulations, Elisa!

DSA is celebrating a huge summer for one of our incoming 7th graders. Elisa poured herself into musical theatre this year, and the results speak for themselves.

In June, she starred as Gretchen in Mean Girls Jr. with Denver City Theatre and as Young Anna in Frozen Jr. with the Performing Arts Academy. Two productions, two starring roles, one summer.

Now she is taking the next step. Elisa just accepted her first professional contracted role as Young Anastasia in Anastasia with Ovation West Theatre Company.

This is what it looks like when talent meets hard work. We cannot wait to see Elisa back on our stages this fall, and we cannot wait to see where this new chapter takes her.

Way to go, Elisa. DSA is proud to call you one of our own.

Alumni Spotlight: Lauryn Romaine, Class of 2012

Lauryn spent seven years as a Vocal Music major at DSA, building the discipline, teamwork, and leadership that still shape her work today. Nearly a decade into her nursing career, she has worked in hospitals through the pandemic and now serves patients in hospice care.

Music never left her life. Lauryn sings with Nostal-Jazz, a band she shares with her musician husband.

Her advice for current students: embrace your time here. Express yourself, and give others room to do the same. Some of the friends you make now will stay with you for life.

Congratulations, Lauryn. DSA is proud of you.

🎒 REMINDER: Back to School Night is Thursday! 🏫

We are so happy to have you join us Thursday to meet your students' teachers and get a feel for their daily schedule!

⏰ The Details:

The evening begins at 5:00 PM for both Middle School and High School families.

Families will wrap up and leave by 7:45 PM.

High school classes may be across Montview on the DSA South Campus, so please use the crosswalk immediately south of the Schomp Theatre.

💡 A Quick Note:
The night is designed to give you a brief glimpse into your student's day, so these are not times for specific parent-teacher conferences. If you have specific questions about your student's progress, we encourage you to schedule a dedicated meeting at a later date. All teacher contact information is available on our website and on the Parent Portal!

We are #1 🎉

Denver School of the Arts posted the highest percentage of points of any high school and any school serving grades 6 through 12 in DPS this year: 87.2%, up 1.3% from last year. 📈

This is not luck. It is teachers who show up for students every day. It is students who choose rigor in academics and in their art form. It is families who trust us with their kids. 🙌

We are DSA. 🎭🎨🎶

📸 Since IDs were printed during picture day last week, we are officially enforcing ID expectations at DSA beginning this week. 🎒

🟢 Middle School (6 to 8): ID worn around neck or on belt. Not on backpacks.
🟢 High School (9 to 12): ID on you at all times, ready to show when asked.
🟢 Staff and Visitors: District ID required. Visitors check in with ID at the office.

📷 Everyone shows ID to the camera when entering the building.

This keeps our campus safe and helps us know who belongs here. Thanks for helping your student build the habit early. 🎭🎨🎶
