She’s holding a whole world in her fingertips. 🏠

In Dollhouse, Zoe Hawk places a girl in an emerald forest, kneeling over a tiny house with a doll balanced in her hand. Her gaze is distant. The palette is candy-colored and nostalgic, but the scene carries a quiet mystery, and it’s just one glimpse into the world of Lost Girls.

Exploring the complex experience of girlhood, the exhibition, Lost Girls, moves through feminine identity, adolescent anxiety, and the search for belonging. Zoe’s figures inhabit dreamlike worlds where clothes become costumes and wild forests and open skies mirror the emotional landscape.

One girl is timid, another resolute. They are joyful, mournful, mischievous, lost, and searching, suspended between fairy tales and the darker realities of womanhood.

Lost Girls opens October 9 at our Denver gallery. We look forward to welcoming you. ✨

Some visitors arrive without knocking. 🦉

In Point of Departure, Robin McCauley pauses a barn owl in the warm glow of a half-open doorway. Its heart-shaped face turns toward us, steady and unblinking, while a long shadow stretches behind it across the wall. The moment feels suspended between arriving and leaving.

The painting is part of a series that reflects a clear evolution in McCauley’s practice. Her compositions feel increasingly resolved, with birds positioned within quiet, architectural interiors. Subtle light, softened surfaces, and slightly open doorways suggest a quiet dialogue between the natural and the constructed.

Born in Rockford, Illinois, in 1973, McCauley earned her B.F.A. in Painting from the University of Minnesota and her M.F.A. from UC Davis. Now based in Los Angeles, she has been featured in publications including the Los Angeles Times and Artweek, and has taught at California State University since 2001, as well as at UCLA and other institutions.

Set against a sweeping mountain backdrop, Zoe Hawk’s Wild Horses places three young women in matching white dresses and red boots among a quiet herd. The scene trades traditional Western grit for an uncanny, dreamlike stillness: turning an emblem of frontier freedom into a subtle exploration of girlhood, unity, and autonomy.

Zoe Hawk’s Lost Girls opens October 9 at our Denver gallery.

Fourteen by eleven inches is plenty of room for a little Western spectacle.

In Atomic Cowboy, Tracy Stuckey places the familiar figure of the cowboy within an unexpected, almost dreamlike landscape. Monumental red rock formations rise in the distance while the cool geometry of a swimming pool anchors the foreground, creating a playful tension between the rugged and the refined.

At just 14 × 11 inches, the painting feels surprisingly expansive. Stuckey’s layering of Western iconography, saturated color, and surreal detail transforms a small canvas into a scene that invites a much closer look.

Opening next in Denver! Zoe Hawk’s exhibition Lost Girls! In Hawk’s paintings, familiar moments of girlhood become scenes of quiet tension and discovery. Here, two girls move through an open field beneath a vast sky, connected by the simple act of flying a kite. Their interaction captures the shifting emotions and relationships of adolescence, where play, independence, and uncertainty often exist side by side.
Hawk explores the complexities of girlhood through themes of adolescent anxiety, feminine identity, and belonging. Her figures inhabit scenes that feel nostalgic yet psychologically charged, inviting us to consider the experiences that shape identity.
Zoe Hawk’s upcoming exhibition opens October 9 in Denver.

Christian Ruiz Berman’s new paintings each bring two birds into richly layered worlds shaped by histories of adaptation and migration. Each work combines expressive brushwork, geometric patterns, architectural forms, and highly detailed realism.
For Berman, animals often take center stage as “mischief makers, seers, and stewards of human culture,” offering another way to consider our place within a constantly changing world. His birds become participants in these shifting environments, surrounded by symbols, materials, and visual references that suggest movement, exchange, and transformation.
Each of the four works is distinct, with its own pair of birds and visual landscape.
Now on view as part of Rousseau’s Paradox at our Bozeman Gallery. We invite you to visit in person and take a closer look at the intricate surfaces and unexpected details throughout these works.

I Dream of Woolly Dogs bridges the gap between traditional textile art and fine art printmaking. Epiphany Couch hand-pierces imagery of lush ferns and dark, rippling waters, carefully piecing them together into a striking geometric quilt composition. Set upon textured Rives paper with subtle blind embossing, the paper quilt features delicate strands of sheep’s wool dangling from its edges, anchoring the intricate craftsmanship to a rich, tactile heritage. It is a stunning study in patience, pattern, and story, where meticulous precision meets deep organic roots.

In Jenny Day’s paintings, the landscape rarely follows the rules. 🐻‍❄️ ⛵

In Adrift, bears, sailboats, oversized moons, and rosy mountains come together in a world that feels playful, surreal, and entirely its own. Day’s unexpected color and expressive brushwork transform the landscape into something imagined, where familiar animals and places take on a new kind of logic.

That connection to the natural world is deeply woven into Day’s life and practice. She lives and works on an historic off-grid ranch in Cerrillos, New Mexico.

With a BFA in Painting and a BA in Environmental Studies, Day brings together her interest in painting and the environment in work that feels grounded in the landscape while leaving plenty of room for imagination.

Before camera meets plate, a whole world is built by hand. Raised among Colorado ranches, artist Ryan Scheer doesn’t just capture landscapes, he constructs intricate dioramas using dirt, stone, and wild weeds gathered directly from the earth. Carrying forward an innate instinct for world-building, a legacy inherited from his great-grandfather Walt Disney, Scheer creates environments that exist in the hazy space between memory, fiction, and history.
In Prairie King, captured as a wet plate collodion on acrylic panel, this craft is laid bare. The piece portrays a regal figure standing sentinel over a crafted miniature terrain. Wet plate collodion infuses the scene with deliberate chemical shifts, surface irregularities, and deep tonal shifts, transforming a staged diorama into an eerie, weathered artifact that feels discovered rather than made.
It invites you into a space that blurs line between real and imagined, asking not whether the scene physically exists, but whether it feels true.
