SEPTEMBER SNAIL MAIL - slasher edition 🔪

what's your favorite scary movie?? i've definitely enjoyed the hell outta obsession, backrooms, and teenage s*x & death at camp miasma this summer, and i've already started my annual x-files rewatch 🤓

i am hard-launching spooky season with another halloween-ish theme for the snail mail club this month! this birthday card is a smash with horror enthusiasts, murder podcast girlies, and October babies, and the complementary sticker features a shiny chrome spot finish on the blade (hell yeah) and retro-inspired lettering

you can snag one or both when you join the snail mail club anytime this month, along with a coordinating digital wallpaper and tons of other creative resources on p a t r e o n! if you like regular updates from me (that aren't throttled by the 🤖) it's the best place to hang on the internet, and you can join my community totally free!

swipe to check out the details, and join both my newsletter and the snail mail club in bio 🔗

snail mail club members get first dibs on new designs, beautiful hand-lettered deliveries, AND access to tons of creative resources on p a t r e o n - long-form tutorials, discount in-person workshops, digital brushes, guides, and other creative assets. i've built a 5-year archive of creative tools (guided by my 15-years of teaching experience) that i'm just itching to share with you 💜

who doesn't love rooting for an underdog?

taking a moment today to shine some light on some of my personal favorite designs that for whatever reason, are only medium performers in my greeting card line - they sell well enough, but don't quite get the same attention as some of my bestsellers so i am giving them their own moment in the sun 🌞

if you have a favorite, give them a little ego boost in the comments (yes all of my illustrations have feelings and YES they will appreciate your kindness) and if you have any suggestions for me that you think would help strengthen these designs, i am always open to those things. for example, i am thinking about pivoting the "happy birthday to a reel one" to a father's day design - lemme know what you think, and have a great weekend 😎

i have sooooo much ephemera from my recent travels - stationery store bits, postcards & stickers galore from ICON, and tons of beautifully designed leftovers from many a museum visit 🤓

i love curating and combining little collections of these things because it is a really relaxing creative habit that helps me reflect on my adventures (and it cannot be monetized, which my biz brain really needs sometimes) so i was delighted to receive “just add junk” - Megan Roy’s new journal 💕

i love that the pages aren’t blank white and are instead full of fun illustrations, textures, and patterns (plus if your junk collection needs a jump-start, it also has stickers and collage pages too)

check out megan’s pinned post to preorder a copy for yourself (and the opportunity to win a junk journaling party 🎉 )

time to feature another one of my favorite retailers: Goods For The Study 🥰 sarah, alwa, aj, and the rest of the team were my very first wholesale order at my very first trade show, and i was so starstruck!! i tried to be chill, but i definitely was NOT because landing a dream retailer right out of the gate was so unexpected!

if you are not familiar, goods for the study is a collection of NYC stationery shops that are gorgeous and super-well-stocked top to bottom with stationery, greeting cards, a really fun pen wall (say less amirite) and an incredible selection of fountain pens and inks - aka, heaven on earth 👼🏻 swipe to take a peek inside their west village location (my personal fave 💕)

it has been totally surreal to be able to come back and visit my cards in their shops every time i’m in the city - which i always do 🤓 i’m so proud to see my cards there, so the next time you’re in NYC, make sure to make some time to stop by!
