💚 Does a rejection mean I am a bad performer? 💚

Never, ever, ever! We know that putting yourself out there in the industry is TOUGH and it can feel very cut throat. Rejection is never easy.

BUT, we assure you that rejection is not an indicator of how good of a performer you are. We will provide constructive feedback by request on any "no's" we send out because we have yet to receive an actual "bad" performance submission.

Please take care of yourselves and know you are wonderful and valued.

💚Who is considered a newbie?💚

Everyone's burlesk life looks different! And with lockdown happening in the not-so-distant past, it really threw a wrench in any sort of linear growth as new performers!

A "newbie" for Creeplesque Fest is any burlesk performer who has been performing for less than 2 years OR has performed in under 10 shows. Additionally, we are asking that you have no prior festival performances under your belt.

Last year, we had a blast doing our first Newbie Brunch Showcase and we can't wait to bring you your own Thursday Night Showcase this year!

This one requires a few answers!

💚Bare minimum, all performers must be doing burlesk.

💚We would like to prioritize the submissions of BIPOC, Trans, and Disabled performers, who each get one additional submission.

💚We also are open to performers from ALL STAGES OF PERFORMANCE LIFE. This means if you are a newbie, or if you have been at this for YEARS.

Our main focus is performers with stage presence for miles! Give us everything you got!

YES

We need to know what we are putting on stage. This is a festival, after all. We want to know your act is well thought out, polished, and festival ready.

HOWEVER, your video submission does not need to be of a live performance. We know that it can be hard to get good video! Rehearsal videos (of the full performance, just with no audience) are acceptable.

OH MY GOD PLEASE GIVE US ALL THE DESCRIPTION. It is very surprising how similar act themes can seem on paper. Give us a mood, a vibe, colors, cool and unique aspects of your costuming or performance style. MAKE YOUR SUBMISSION STAND APART FROM OTHER SIMILAR CONCEPTS.

And stop underselling yourselves.
