Happy August and Happy Birthday to all the Leos out there! I am currently traveling to visit my favorite Leo (my sister), so my shop is closed, but I wanted to share my Zodiac hoop for August, which honors all the proud lions out there! These hoops are made with hard-to-find vintage metallic threads that I found at a second-hand craft supply store—the threads glimmer and shimmer! The large (5 x 9”) versions include the constellation for the star sign, marked out in silver thread and silver stars. The smaller (3 x 5) versions just have the star sign and glyph. My astrology hoops were inspired by antiquarian star charts and illustrations. I have all 12 signs of the zodiac available!

Day 31 LAST DAY of I’m thrilled to have made it without missing a day (thanks to a lot of pics of older art dolls, LOL). It’s been a joy to share and get such supportive and wonderful feedback! So, here is the rest of the story about my commission for actressyt Jennifer Tilly! So, her friend managed to track me down somewhere between 8 and 10 years after she bought my Two Fridas set. She asked if I would make a Frida art doll with a CHUCKY theme (since Ms. Tilly voices Tiffany in the Chucky movies)!!! Of course, this was a hard request to envision, but I was excited to try! I worked off of my Frida with Dog and Monkey version and then had a blast coming up with ways to create the psychotic Chucky… It is definitely an original, and Jennifer Tilly even shared a post about the piece on her feed, which was really cool! So, I thought this would be an amusing tale and piece to end with! Day 25 Jordan posted her Frida with Pretzel Braid drawing recently, so I thought I would post my Frida art doll made after the same painting. It made the braid from incredibly soft wool-like embroidery thread that I found in one of my random outings. I beaded her top and embellished some upcycled fabric for her skirt!
