After the unexpected death of her moms just a few months after her 18th birthday, Lydia is the new owner of her family business and childhood home: the Historic Friends' House of Mercy. The house, formerly a home for fallen girls, is now a haunted site hosting ghost tours, investigations, and paranormal overnight stays for professional and amateur ghost hunting enthusiasts alike; a business that the resident ghosts have mixed feelings about. When a reality TV show descends on their home, the girls of the House of Mercy - both living and dead - struggle in the only ways they know how to understand what it means to grow up too fast, the intersection between childhood and motherhood, and facing the grief of a future you should have received.

Remember us?

We're still here. We've just been hibernating. And it's time to wake up after an extremely long winter.

We are co-producing with K. Woodzick an upcoming event and we want to share a little bit about it with you!

Writing Monsters Virtual Readings is kicking off next weekend and running for 2 weeks! Four playwrights from the Playwrights' Center Writing Monsters Playwriting Intensive are sharing virtual readings of their work April 19, 20, 26 & 27!

These virtual readings feature two plays by trans playwrights and there are transgender, non-binary and gender expansive characters in three of the four plays.

Spanning NYC, Wisconsin, the Twin Cities, Colorado and beyond we have artists across the nation participating in this unique virtual event.

The Benchmark Team came out to support Executive Director and co-founder Haley Johnson in her return to the stage after a 5 year hiatus!

Vintage Theatre in Aurora is currently running Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express adapted by Ken Ludwig through Oct. 27th!

Happy Opening Night to the cast & crew of Vintage Theatre's production of Murder on the Orient Express!

Benchmark Theatre Executive Director and co-founder Haley Johnson is making her return to the stage in this Agatha Christie classic whodunit after last being seen in our productions of The Quality of Life and Parfumerie in 2019.

Go check out this show, this dynamite cast and see if you can solve the case before legendary detective, Hercule Poirot (played by Josh Levy who starred in our 2023 production of Blasted!).

If you're looking for something to do tonight, go rock out with our friends at Miners Alley Playhouse and their production of School of Rock!

Tonight is their Industry Night performance and a fundraiser for the incredible Denver Actors Fund; and the show also runs through September 15th!

(Pro tip: John Hauser is starring in SoR and for those of you who have followed Benchmark for awhile you'll know John has been an integral member of the Benchmark Team - we're so stoked to see him rockin' out up in Golden!)

What a lovely reunion for most of the cast of Benchmark's most recent production, The Road to Lethe, at the 18th Annual Henry Awards. (We missed you, eden!)

A beautiful evening filled with celebration, connection and support. Benchmark was honored to be nominated for three Henry Awards and grateful to be present to cheer on all the artists in the community.
