Fun fact! Webster Edgerly also went by the name Ralston (hence, Ralston Health Club) and was a huge advocate of whole grain cereal. He joined with Purina Mills to make breakfast cereal, eventually merging into Ralston-Purina in 1902. Ever had a bowl of Chex? Thank Webster Edgerly.

Happy Birthday F. Scott Fitzgerald!

Already dripping with pearlescent glaze of the Jazz Age, these first and early printings of young Fitzgerald’s works introduce the mind that eventually brought us The Great Gatsby.

Flappers and Philosophers: second printing of Fitzgerald’s first collection of short stories (written before he flunked out of Princeton) in scarce dust jacket.

The Vegetable: first edition of Fitzgerald’s only play with a charming owner’s bookplate.

Tales of the Jazz Age: first edition of the first anthology to include “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Raise a glass to another year of flappers and green lights. Message or visit us in the shop if you’re interested.

Bourdain, Anthony. Les Halles Cookbook. New York: Bloomsbury, 2004. First edition, first printing.

***
Signed by Anthony Bourdain, this first edition of Les Halles Cookbook captures the wit, swagger, and unapologetic love of French bistro cuisine that made him one of the most influential culinary voices of his generation.
