Strings & Wood Concerts

Strings & Wood Concerts Developing the Colorado Music Scene Through Community Strings & Wood believes in not making a profit off of the artists we promote. Please support them!

The heart of Strings & Wood is to provide an avenue and platform, through the promotion of live music, social justice, and visual art, for people to celebrate their innate ability to live artistically, aesthetically, and creatively. Ultimately, our purpose is to promote expressions of artistry, while being sensitive to the beauty that is all around us and playing our part in adding to it…whether i

t's through live music, visual art, or creatively giving back to social causes. At our concerts where a cover is charged, musicians take 90% of the total ticket sales and 100% of merchandise sales. If a musician decides to ask for suggested donations instead of having a cover charge, he or she takes 100% of all donations collected for that night. Sadly, this belief is not commonly practiced in today’s live music industry. The musicians we are granted the opportunity of working with perform on both a local and national scale. It has been a privilege to see several artists get their start through Strings & Wood and then go on to have national and international success. We’ve also had the honor of hosting several musicians who normally play at venues twice as large as the ones provided by Strings & Wood, but these musicians generously offer their gifts because of their belief in the Strings & Wood vision. Strings & Wood Expresses Itself By -
Producing live music, multi-media events that connect local musicians, visual artists, & social justice

Connecting musicians with, and providing opportunities for musicians to perform at top local music venues (The Walnut Room, Hi Dive, The Oriental Theater, Highland Cork Coffee & Wine bar, The Gothic Theater, Highlands Arts & Event Center ‘donated to us by Highlands Church’)

Providing marketing and promotional channels for artists (facebook, myspace, twitter, street team, Andy Kennedy Graphic Design, Strings & Wood newsletter and website)

Creating a community environment to expand artist fan base

Providing an environment for fans, and artists alike, to discover their inherent ability to live creatively

Fostering awareness & building connection amongst local faith communities with Denver’s music and arts community

Music Management to music and arts community

Offering booking assistance to qualified musicians who are unable to afford their own booking agents

Providing quality live music & photography for your event, wedding, fundraiser, or cause

Strings & Wood Reviews

"Presenting monthly shows by local favorites, Strings & Wood is truly ‘oneof those’ event production teams that keeps the arts alive. A labor of love, these guys work hard so that local music and art can be seen and heard. Singer-songwriter, Gabrielle Louise - www.gabriellelouise.com

"I was so honored to be sponsored by a Strings & Wood Presents because it came, not only with an enthusiastic one-night event, but as a dedicated and detail-oriented process building up to that event. I felt loved and supported in a personalized way, not the object of a large donor's charity! The money that was raised is being used to support my work as a teacher and photojournalist in Haiti. I'm so thankful for their generosity." Teaching Photojournalist, Hillary Prag -www.hillaryprag.com

"Not only did Strings & Wood give me a chance to play one of Denver's top music clubs, but it gave me exposure to a supportive new audience in the music scene that I would have never encountered. Singer-songwriter, Rob Drabkin -www.robdrabkin.com

“Art through Strings & Wood, are actively and passionately rekindling the flame between the arts and the church. It is beautiful to see. Their commitment and excitement to serve and love local ministries like Dry Bones, is inspiring and a great encouragement. Most recently, Dan Craig and Jessica Sonner, with Stings & Wood, donated the proceeds from their show to Dry Bones. The money that was raised is enabling us to continue ministering in love among the homeless youth of Denver. Thanks Strings & Wood – it is an honor and a joy to partner with you.”

Dry Bones Homeless Youth Worker, Zach Smith – www.drybonesdenver.org

"What a pleasure to work with genuine, kind people in an industry that can often times be so fake and cutting. Singer-songwriter, Aaron Espe -www.aaronespe.com

"Both shows I have teamed up with Strings & Wood to put on a show have been wonderful experiences. It's very cool to see people catch the vision of supporting the local music scene here in Denver. It was an honor to be included in what they are doing to help connect the church with the local art scene." Singer-songwriter, Jessica Sonner - www.jessicasonner.com

Some of our favorite memories from our Colorado days — putting on and presenting — were born inside the beauty and mystique of The Bluebird Theater.

We are super stoked to share that in just a few short weeks, on Friday, December 5th, Strings & Wood Concerts returns to the heart of Colfax and Denver’s legendary , to team up with and to present ‘ Dog Tags’ “Roseworld” Album Experience Show — live and in color! 🌈

From ‘s days booking them at , to watching them win over hearts and the streets of , to their collaborations with amplifying their message — and most recently photographing their incredible set at opening for this past Spring— it’s been a soul-filled dream to witness Dog Tags’ growth as a band. Their message of love & diversity, their music, and their community outreach have only deepened over the years, and we’re so honored to have Strings & Wood as a co-presenter for their Roseworld album experience.

If you’re a music-loving Rocky Mountain soul, a longtime Dog Tags fan, a curious music lover, or an old friend of & Strings & Wood Concerts, come say hi at the Bluebird on Friday, December 5th. Our team will be flying in from Portland to soak in the heart-melting Roseworld magic of Dog Tags — wouldn’t miss it for the world. 🌹

And we can’t wait to get our hands on a Roseworld album — if you listen closely to track #2, {Keepsake}, you might even catch a couple of flutey riffs 🪈 by yours truly, woven into the colorful, kaleidoscopic soundscape of Dog Tags’ new record.

Hope to hug it up at the Bluebird on Dec 5th as we squeeze in one more Colorado ‘Pass Through’ before year’s end — to celebrate the artistry and magic of Dog Tags.

“In a world where softness is often distorted or dismissed, a new voice has lassoed feminine intimacy back to where it belongs — as something sincere, and profoundly powerful.”

We are beyond grateful to have opening our October 12th show as brings his West Coast tour through Portland.

Earlier this year, Larsen arrived in Portland, and both her music and her somatic healing practice — (Sacred Garden Coaching) — have brought so much magic, light, and wisdom to our city and creative community.

“A rose is a rose is a rose,” said Gertrude Stein.

Larsen Gardens, aka Portland-based songstress Sarah Edmonds, delivers an intimate and deeply personal experience through the wanderings of voice and nylon-string guitar.

Inspired by a longing for the eternal and the archetypal quest to uncover the essence of a thing, her music invites us to witness what lies just beneath the surface — in the bud of a flower waiting to bloom.

Performing under various monikers, Sarah has shared the stage and studio with artists such as Jen Gunderman (Sheryl Crow, The Jayhawks), Joe Pisapia (Guster, K.D. Lang), Fred Eltringham (The Wallflowers, The Chicks), and Mike Rinne (Miranda Lambert, Emmylou Harris), among others.

“There aren’t enough words for love in English; has found a way around our pretty language’s greatest deficit.”

Sunday, Oct 12th – Niall Connolly brings his West Coast tour to Portland, Oregon, and is beyond thrilled to present and host our old pal in cozy Hollywood District Living Room...Portlands very own to open.

🎟️ Grab your tickets at the link in our bio!
🎶 Scroll down for more about Niall’s musical magic, and be sure to follow his journey up the west coast at ( ) as he makes his way to Portland — we can’t wait!

“A master storyteller, Niall Connolly is the kind of person you hope to find yourself sitting next to — at a pub, a wedding, or even a funeral. His songs are slow-simmered, rich with family history, and woven with a golden thread of dark Irish humor….

I’ve got a willingness to see the fun alongside the suffering,” he says. “But I’ve always got one eye on the party.”

Cork-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Niall Connolly brings the urgency to folk and the finely-crafted story to indie rock. He blends a riveting sound with layered, literate lyrics that generously reward the listener.

Happy October and we’ll see ya on the 12th.
