🎶 YOUR FALL LISTENING ASSIGNMENT 🎶

Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne | “Try It Out”

Start with the bass line. Then add boogie-woogie piano, a horn section and, unexpectedly, banjo.

“Try It Out,” from Kenny’s 2024 album Ooh Yeah!, is a pretty great introduction to an artist who has spent decades rooted in blues and boogie-woogie without treating either like something frozen in time.

The recording has the whole band.

On October 8, we get Kenny alone at the piano. Get your tickets through the link and hear where he takes you live.

Today's MAS REWIND isn't about one performance, it's about the journey.

Over the past few weeks, we've revisited just a handful of the remarkable artists who have shared their music with MAS. From Grammy winners and internationally acclaimed performers to emerging voices and unforgettable collaborations, every concert has been part of a larger story: creating opportunities for artists and audiences to connect through live music.

Over the years, those moments have taken place in concert venues, community collaborations, and intimate house concerts. They've introduced us to music from around the world, celebrated diverse traditions and creative voices, and reminded us that some of the most meaningful musical experiences happen when people gather simply to listen.

Thank you for joining us on this walk down memory lane and for sharing your own memories along the way. Whether you've been with MAS since the beginning or discovered us more recently, you're part of the community that makes these evenings possible.

🎶 And now... it's time to look ahead.

Tomorrow, we'll announce our Fall 2026 season and open tickets for sale. We can't wait to share what's next with you.

Looking back at all of these REWIND moments, what do you think makes an MAS concert feel uniquely "MAS"?

For today’s MAS REWIND, we’re returning to a 2024 performance by an artist whose music has never been easy to place in just one category: Jolie Holland.

A singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Jolie Holland draws from folk, blues, jazz, country, and traditional American music while maintaining a sound that is distinctly her own. Across her career, she has earned a devoted following through songs shaped by expressive vocals, vivid writing, and an approach that resists simple labels.

Jolie’s performance gave our audience the opportunity to hear that singular voice in the intimate setting of an MAS concert. Rather than asking listeners to settle into one familiar style, her music moved freely among traditions, allowing each song to unfold on its own terms.

🎶 Our Fall 2026 season will be announced, and tickets go on sale August 1. We can’t wait to share what’s next.

A celebrated vocalist, guitarist, and composer from Chile, Camila Meza has built an international career through music that is thoughtful, expressive, and uniquely her own. Drawing inspiration from jazz while embracing influences from her South American heritage, she brings a lyrical voice to every performance, whether through her singing, her guitar playing, or her original compositions.

When Camila made her Denver debut with MAS, audiences experienced an artist whose musicianship balanced technical artistry with warmth and sincerity. It was an evening that reflected the beauty of listening closely and appreciating the many ways music can communicate across styles, traditions, and experiences.

Today's MAS REWIND takes us back to an evening with Robert Mirabal!

A Grammy Award-winning artist from Taos Pueblo, Robert Mirabal is known for weaving together music, storytelling, and instruments of his own creation. Drawing from the traditions of his Pueblo heritage, his performances reflect a lifelong commitment to sharing culture, history, and community through live music.

Robert's performance brought those traditions to life in an intimate setting, creating space for audiences to experience music and storytelling as interconnected expressions of culture. We're grateful to have welcomed Robert to the MAS stage and to everyone who joined us for this special evening.

🎶 Our Fall 2026 season will be announced and tickets go on sale August 1. We can't wait to share what's next.

Did MAS introduce you to Robert Mirabal or had you been following his work already? We'd love to hear how you first discovered his music.

07/21/2026

One of the things we love most about MAS is the opportunity to introduce Denver audiences to artists and musical traditions from around the world.

Our evening with Kaleta & Super Yamba Band did exactly that. Led by Leon "Kaleta" Ligan-Majekodunmi, whose remarkable career has included performing with Afrobeat pioneers Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade - the band brought an electrifying blend of Afrobeat, funk, and West African rhythms to The Savoy Denver.

It didn't take long before audience members were on their feet dancing, turning the evening into a joyful celebration of live music and community. It's a performance we'll always remember, and we're grateful to have shared it with everyone who joined us.

🎶 As MAS REWIND continues, we're celebrating the artists who've shaped our journey while looking ahead to our next season.

Our Fall 2026 season will be announced and tickets go on sale August 1.

Were you one of the people dancing that night? We'd love to hear your favorite memory from the evening or tag someone you shared it with!
