The front is finished with a green celadon glaze, which features a distinctive crackle pattern on the surface. The back of the piece features the bare porcelain clay, which I have carved, burnished, and sanded so that it is smooth to the touch. I see this shape as ideal for stress and anxiety relief, or as an addition to a meditation practice.

This tiny cup is thrown by hand and finished in a single, glowing glaze. I use a technique called throwing off the hump to form these shapes, where I begin with a large lump of clay and then form the tiny cups one by one.

After the cups dry somewhat, I flip them over and trim away excess clay from the base to create a foot ring. The base of each cup is finished with my maker's mark. I then glaze the cups and fire them in my kiln.

Hand-thrown by me and glazed with care, this extra-large platter is ready to host your favorite dishes or sit as a sculptural centerpiece. This design is one-of-a-kind and features a chattering decoration I create on the pottery wheel using blue slip layered on top of the white base clay. To get this surface decoration, I coat the platter with the blue slip, and once the slip has died somewhat, I used a carving knife dragged across the surface of the platter as the wheel rotates, which creates a rhythmic carved design.

This is a functional piece designed for use with food and drink. It is made with highly durable glazes specially formulated for functional use. Pots are microwave and dishwasher safe.

This is a sculptural torus-shaped vase designed to hold a single stem or small flower arrangement. A torus is a term for a geometric shape that is essentially an enclosed hollow ring. I use the torus shape as my inspiration for this form, and add openings to it so that it can hold a single stem or small flower arrangement. I begin by throwing this form horizontally on the pottery wheel in my studio from white stoneware. Then, I trim away excess clay and sculpt the shape so that it stands up vertically. After bisque firing, I finish the surface with a specialty blue crackle glaze that features an intricate pattern of decorative cracking. This glaze is often called a "snowflake crackle" because of the pattern's resemblance to a pattern similar to cracking ice.
Base is water tight and holds approx. one-half inch of water for use with a stem or small flower arrangement.
