MeetTheDirector: Claudia Carson

We’re thrilled to welcome back Claudia Carson for her second season with Musique & Masque—this time at the helm of Seussical the Musical!

Claudia brings decades of experience in Colorado theater, with a career that has included stage management, directing, teaching, and more than 20 years with the Denver Center. She was instrumental in the Denver Center’s Bobby G High School Musical Theatre Awards, where she helped create an environment focused not on competition, but on connection, community, and ensemble.

That philosophy is at the heart of Claudia’s work: bringing people together, supporting young performers, and creating those magical theater moments when everyone is fully in the room together.

We’re so happy to have her back with the Musique & Masque family—and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the wonderfully wacky world of Seussical!

Come join us for a little Seussical magic!

Behind the scenes of Seussical!

There’s a lot more to creating the world of Dr. Seuss than meets the eye—and around here, it involves feathers. Lots and lots of feathers. 🪶

Meet Nancy Thompson, our one-woman costume department, who is busy transforming fabric, T-shirts, and plenty of imagination into the colorful world of Seussical. From dyeing shirts in classic Seuss hues to building Bird Girls one feather at a time, Nancy is making sure our cast looks every bit as wonderfully whimsical as they sound.

Swipe through for a peek at the costume magic in progress—and then come see the finished creations onstage!
