“DYAO has over that past 2 years become a huge inspiration and motivator for me in music. It has kept me wanting to perform and wanting to improve myself both in and outside of music. In many ways DYAO has also became a family to me. I have met so many people I adore through DYAO, and so many people that push me to be a better version of myself, and I am so glad to have been a part of the music.”

“To me DYAO has meant taking my playing to the next level while making new friends and constantly learning from amazing faculty and directors. It’s been an incredibly fun and enriching experience that I have looked forward to every week for the past 2 years. Before DYAO, I had never played in a full symphony orchestra. I never anticipated what a challenging but rewarding experience it would be. My musical horizons, as well as my ability to work in a team, have been broadened by my experience with DYAO. I am sad to leave but know I will look back at my time with DYAO very affectionately as I enter this next stage of my life.”

Sam is excited to attend the University of Montana in Missoula to major in Neuroscience.

“Being a part of DYAO this season has been such a great experience! It has provided great opportunities for me to learn and play challenging repertoire, previewing what it could be like to work as a professional musician. Playing with other talented students and professionals inspires me to continue to play great music with others. DYAO has deepened my passion to continue making music with others beyond my high school years!” Samantha will be attending the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver to major in Violin Performance.
