I made an egg catching thingy! I was tired of my chickens sh****ng on or breaking their eggs! So I made their egg laying box thingy sloped and a catch at the end (I know they sell them). Got my first egg as I was walking to get the stain to waterproof it.

Chickens sleep flat footed, and in winter their toes keep warmer too. 2x4s is the way to go. Large side flat.7moReply3

Any suggestions?

I'm a fleet tech and I grab the fuel tanks our drivers bust open. I cut them in half and thought hey why not make planters. What do you guys think about these supports? I think I should add a middle piece that holds the outer legs inward but I'm not sure. If anyone has suggestions on a better design I'm all ears. I've got 3 more tanks to cut up

Are chickens always super easy? New to chickens but they have been shocking easy. They put themselves to sleep, stay together as they roam the yard to their favorite resting spots. Haven’t tried to fly over the 6’ fence yet.

Do they stay this easy? Or is it like human children where they switch it up on you right when you think you’ve got parenting under control?

Using Omlet coop door. Camera in run and coop. Free range whenever I’m home.

This was all a beginner setup to see if we wanted to commit, and so far we love it.
