Pareidolia Art Class And Art Tour

Hello! Come experience my Pareidolia art class and tour my unique, local Denver home studio, which showcases 80 of my original works. Located in eclectic Five Points, which is walkable to the Rino Art District and some of the best restaurants and breweries in Denver!

Pareidolia: A psychological phenomenon that causes people to see patterns (faces) in random or ambiguous visuals.

I have created an art technique that explores this phenomenon. In this class, you will choose from serval pareidolia prints in which you see a face or animal, then pick from an array of markers and colored pencils to color, draw and bring to life the creatures you see.

We break away from the classroom setting and sit on my cozy couch with a lap desk. I will provide tips and directions whilst playing psychedelic music, in hopes of sending you into flow state. Flow state is a magical place where ideas come flowing in, time doesn't exist and realizations occur.

Before class, I can explain some of my own pareidolia art pieces. My ‘Translating For Trees’ series is my most recent collection where I paint on wood using my pareidolia technique. People love seeing these in person and hearing the stories the trees have to tell. I hope to share my class and life’s work with you!

Pareidolia has been a monumental part of my life as an artist for 20 years. For ten years I shared this technique at a homeless shelter for kids. It was beautiful to share this artistry and to see the positive benefits.

I recognize many people do not have an artistic outlet. I have created this class to continue to put forward the happiness and healing this technique brings to me. I also love the fact that right or left-brained people can do this because we are all innately born with this gift. This fact opens up doors for left-brain people who have always wanted to create art, and for right-brain people to explore further. It brings me joy to share my technique and see what pareidolia can be for others.

Pareidolia: a psychological phenomenon that causes people to see patterns and faces in random or ambiguous visuals.
In my current series I use a healing pareidolia art technique. I enhance the wood grain to reveal messages in the books of the eARTh. My dream is to become self sustaining with my art, so that I can volunteer and help others. Art has saved my life time and time again. At this point in my life I feel it’s my purpose to spread that healing through Pareidolia Art Therapy.
Why do I feel this is my purpose? First, I lived in a homeless shelter with my Mom in my senior year in high school for 8 months. Drawing everyday got me through it. This experience was so life changing that it inspired me to work at a homeless shelter. At 21 years old I started working at a homeless shelter for kids. I loved my job. I worked there for 9 years until it was shut down. While I was there I healed myself and countless youth with art, nature walks and an authentic, understanding heart.

Second, my dear sweet Mama, a Veteran with PTSD, went missing four years ago. Her body was found in an abandoned house 10 months later. This loss was the most horrific experience of my life. I’ve been healing in Colorado for 3 years and getting clearer on what my path is. Because of this experience, I have the desire to help others. I have the opportunity to volunteer at a non-profit horse therapy ranch. They work with, underprivileged kids, veterans and kids who have lost a parent to mental illness. They invited me to teach my Pareidolia art class. This is literally the perfect fit, and I'm so excited to move forward.

To volunteer on a regular basis, I need more income. I have a new plan that I’m pursuing in the digital art world that will enable me to do this. I made a branded social media account to strive for this professionally. I ask that you follow on instagram to support this dream. Follows, likes and comments help artists like myself dearly. My goal is to support myself with art, so that I can support others with art.

I did my art class & photo shoot with my dear friend and it was awesome😍! This outside photoshoot is nice for people that don’t feel comfortable being at my place yet. With everything going on, I am aware it’s an odd time to get together.

Child Like Wonder, Forever.
The rocks are from Platte River CO, they lay the foundation. Representing Colorado & my awesome family giving me a safe, stable, loving, foundation to heal. In the beautiful Bambi land mountains of Conifer with my Moms Sister, Alicia & my uncle Bob.
I collected the 2 antiques going up from the foundation, from my Grandpas wood shop. Which also represents being raised by my old school, funny, loving, Sicilian parents, my Mom, Grandpa & Grandma💗 I’m grateful for the upbringing I had. It also represents my deep respect and appreciation for all the woodworking ancestors In my bones.
The girl in the swing, Willow, I sculpted out of clay. Definitely the biggest art challenge I’ve experienced. She represents me finding healing in Colorado and getting lost in my child-like wonder. Swinging above it all in my own little creative world where I’m safe and cozy.
Since dealing with my back injury I’ve been limited to mostly sitting and laying. While sitting I was able to hold onto my sanity while working on these sculptures. This is my favorite one in this series of 6.
My advice to anyone hurting in anyway, force yourself to do that thing you love. Most times, the hardest part is getting started, then you’re glad you did. -Grandpa always told me so! Humans get great joy from completing projects etc. Cooking, writing, whatever it is for you, do it. 💗

Today is and the theme is . The is standing together against the spread of Covid-19 and lock downs have led to amazing positive environmental impacts, let’s remain unified and continue to respect our planet even when things start to “normalize” again. 🤗🌎🌻☀️💞
This piece is named “Mans Tainted Hand Descending On Earth.” This is on paper, I have a special process to create this look on paper. It’s not water color. Sometimes it can take a week to create in a process I call “baking”. Sunlight and water is key. This piece of paper in particular was made on an old piece of wood and this entirely different effect emerged.

This still life has erupted on my living room floor.
I’d love to know what it makes you think/feel?
I found this huge elk skull in the same abandoned cabins that I found the frames in my previous post. I plan to mount it and make art out of it. This piece is definitely reminiscent to my BioLogicalClock piece so I’ve included a picture of that piece as well. Maybe this will be a 2 part piece that hangs on a wall too...
