EP. 3: What Does “No-Makeup Makeup” Actually Mean?

We all seem to know what someone means when they ask for “no-makeup makeup.”
But no makeup is… no makeup.

Meanwhile, a “natural” face can still involve complexion products, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush, brows, mascara, lip products—and all the labor required to make those choices disappear.
So maybe “no-makeup makeup” isn’t really describing an amount of makeup at all.

Maybe it describes what we’ve collectively decided a naturally polished, healthy, attractive face is supposed to look like—and how successfully the work behind that face can remain invisible.

For the finale of the first Face Value pilot season, I’m asking: whose version of “natural” are we actually talking about?
