A lot of artists don’t like taking commissions. This is why I’m grateful for and proud of this work, even though it was the most challenging piece I’ve done in years:

“Stairway to Heaven” taught me so, so much. It triggered new ways of relating to my creativity and forced me to heal some of my relationship issues with my muse.

It made me stop wanting to have suffering be at the forefront of my relationship with creativity. It made me want to show up more consistently for my work. It made me want to push myself in my skill set.

And most importantly, it made me want to heal my wounded creator. The part of me that actually believed people when they told me that art is just a hobby, or that I’ll die a starving artist 🙄 or, what I see a lot in creative communities, the idea that my suffering/mental illness/darkness was necessary for my art.

So I’m done with that narrative. I’m excited to dive into art and creation with JOY. I’m excited to be happy and proud of my work. I’m excited to push myself in this area of my life to be the best I can be.

And all of this is so different than using art as a last ditch effort to stay afloat from mental illness.

I’m experimenting a lot behind the scenes right now, and I’m not exactly comfortable sharing that process with the whole world. But I can promise you that when I come back around on social with new work, it will be well worth the wait 😘

So enjoy some glamour shots of this incredible commission 💁🏻‍♀️ Before this work, I didn’t know that I could actually create something like this, or that I would fall into flow for HOURS painting in a realistic/detailed fashion.

I’ve got a confession to make… I’ve been playing small 🤭

I have a history of not wanting to take up much space, rock the boat, or be the center of attention. So stepping into the business side of being an artist has been SUPER uncomfortable 😫

It means I’ve had to be loud and proud about my work.

I’ve had to show up on social media (notice how I don’t keep up with any personal social media, those of you that know me irl?).

I’ve had to accept the fact that if I want to take up space in a gallery, in my online store, or even in someone’s home in the form of my work— I have had to get over the fear of taking up space!!

That fear still follows me every day— especially on days I post on social. I’m sure it’s tied into that pesky perfectionism 🙄

But here’s the thing— I show up anyway. I get scared. My brain gives me a MILLION reasons why NOT to post, NOT to say “you can buy my art,” NOT to say “I am damn proud of this piece,” and NOT to say “I’ve made over $2,000 off my art this year alone.”

Ummm hello?? That fear is 100% holding me back!!

So today, I want to celebrate myself. I want to take up space to say “wow, I am DOING IT, GUYS 😱🤩😭” I am not only showing up for my art, but showing up for my BUSINESS, which I have learned the *hard way* are two TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS.

And while I’m taking up space, I want to say loud and clear: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Every interaction on Instagram, DM, commission, and purchase has absolutely shattered those negative fear based thoughts. I would not be here at ALL without you. ✨💜🌙

Art has taught me so much about my life.

Sometimes it takes a minute (or several years) to bring the vision in your head into reality.

It doesn’t matter how long it takes, as long as you are consciously striving after that vision.

And, if you find that the vision that once lit your fire no longer makes you excited? It’s ok to drop it at your feet and find something new that makes your heart race again 💜

When I get caught in moments of doubt, and little thoughts pop in like “I don’t know how to run a business” 😵‍💫 I look at my older artwork and see that I also didn’t know how to burn mountains into a piece of wood at first. But with practice, showing up, and faith in myself, I figured it out.

And whatever vision you’re striving for right now— that dream job, that house, that health— I know you’ll figure it out too. It’s all just showing up, practicing the role of the person in that vision, and having faith in yourself that YOU can get you there 💜

You are expansive. You are limitless. And you are supported by the universe.

So let’s go get this fu***ng Tuesday, witches 🌙💜✨

come, time does not exist & you are now. ✨💜🌙

My writing took a turn in 2015, my senior year of college, when I experimented with combining my synesthesia, psychic visions, and wordsmithing. My colleagues that had grown with me in our academic workshops told me, “this is you. this is your voice.” And I knew they were right because of the flow that came with writing these little snapshots of my mind.

They don’t always make sense even to me, but ring true and familiar in a subconscious way— something I attribute to my muse that works through me.

As a witch, October is my FAVORITE month! Here are some quick facts about me, witchy edition 😘

✨ As far as astrology goes, I have a Pisces sun, Libra moon, and Leo rising 🐠⚖️🦁

✨ No, I’m not a gal. But I did already make pumpkin syrup AND pumpkin creamer for my coffee so 🤷🏻‍♀️

✨ My hogwarts house is ravenclaw 🦅

✨ Outside of art, glamour magic is one of my favorites to practice 💄

✨ I read tarot on a pretty regular basis, and am currently learning more about palm reading and diving deeeeep into astrology 🪐

✨ This year, I’m most excited about integrating magic and art even more with new collections dedicated to energies that I’m learning about on a daily basis!

I don’t know why, but I LOVE making art on the floor 😂

In my studio I’ve got two tables that are more a catch all for supplies and works in progress…. But if I’m working, you’ll catch me on the floor 🙃

There’s something really grounding about it, almost reminds me of meditation, and definitely reminds me of finger painting days before I learned to compare my work with others. Whatever, I mean, artists are gonna be weird, right? 😅
