This gorgeous watercolor painting using the canvas of the New York Philharmonic program and is one in a duo of unique illustrations for classical performances currently offered together by Johnnycake Books.

Described on the Johnnycake site as, "Original illustration, 2004, fine tip felt pen and watercolor for the program for John Adams conducting at the New York Philharmonic in May 2004. Lovely watercolor in luscious bluish-purple traversing the double page in the program, which is complete (i.e not excised from program.) Signed by artist." Also signed by the conductor, John Adams.

Johnnycake Books' site describes the playbill as, "Original Playbill illustration of Billy Crystal in 700 SUNDAYS, 2003, at the Broadhurst Theater. Black fine tip felt pen and watercolor, title page excised from a Playbill. This is Crystal's autobiographical solo performance based on his weekly visits with his father. Originated at La Jolla, then played a limited run on Broadway. Signed by Docktor and twice by Crystal on the title page and then on another sheet excised from the Playbill."

Johnnycake Books' site describes the playbill as, "Original illustration, 2006, black and red ink and watercolor, title page excised from Playbill for DOUBT with a the figure of actor Eileen Atkins as mother superior, Ron Eldard as young priest and Jena Malone as young nun. Signed by Irv Docktor lower right. Playbill for the Walter Kerr Theatre where DOUBT had its Broadway premiere in 2004; the actors drawn here are from the replacement cast of 2006. Written by John Patrick Shanley, the play, besides winning 5 Tony's including Best Play, also received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama."
