I’ve been thinking a lot about how so much of the scaffolding we cling to is built on chance.

If you’re looking for a great day trip or a place to linger along I-25 South, Trinidad is well worth the stop. The town is full of history, incredible original architecture, art, and some of the nicest people you’ll meet.

I’m headed back to .denver and I couldn’t be more excited about this event. Artma is a unique, funky, fabulous art auction and fundraiser to support the Morgan Adam’s Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life and survival rates of children, teens, and young adults diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

The event has multiple galleries with silent and live auctions for art donated by hundreds of locally and nationally renowned artists. There is incredible food, drinks, and general merriment. It is not to be missed.

I made “Quiet Conversations” specifically for Artma this year. Placing these quilted notes with writing and patchwork on backgrounds of different colors with relationships to one another, I wanted to highlight the ways we still carry those we have lost to cancer and how they continue to shape and form us even after they are gone. I carry my dear friend who I lost to brain cancer on 2.17.22. Her entire being was art and her reach is wide.

Head to .denver to see more of the beautiful art that will be available at this event. I’d love to see you there.

Over the moon to be headed back to Cherry Creek Arts Festival 2026. Thank you to and all the people behind the scenes who work so hard to make this an incredible opportunity and experience for artists. I’m thrilled to bring what I’m working on back to this venue and to see other artist I admire and love in the mix.

Happy New Year Folks! NK is kicking off the year with a juried exhibition from judges Jennifer Perlow and Chris Stevens and I am honored my piece “Lineage” is included.

This work explores connection through inherited traditions, intimacy, the ways we mark time, and the pull between individual and collective identity. I consider what I’ve “inherited” by using techniques learned from my grandmother and great-grandmother, honoring and unraveling my familial past at once. I gather sentimental scraps, painted papers, and discarded items; quilt them together; cut, resew, and write on them to make small sewn drawings later grouped into larger compositions. These pieces are deliberately small and intimate, asking the viewer to come close to truly connect. I carry them with me and add to them throughout the day as a form of chronicle, linking me to the universal human act of marking time and tending to things we carry that cannot be seen, but that need care. Each sewn drawing stands alone while also contributing to something larger than itself, reflecting how individual stories form a connected whole that is more powerful than its individual components.

Show runs Jan 10- Feb 15

I have some new work available this Thursday November, 6th as part of the show, Connection, in collaboration with Artburst Studios — a show that reflects on the ways art brings us together, near or far.

Inspired by my daily walks and the small things I find and carry, these mixed-media sewn drawings are a way of processing my surroundings—places, sights, and thoughts gathered along the way. The first picture is of the piece “Pathfinding” which grew from a rainy morning walk, where stillness became its own kind of map. Link in bio to see the full collection.
