"I’m an Apache from the San Carlos Apache Nation of AZ. I hope someone will like my work and buy it, then I can buy more supplies and provide you with more artwork. I've been locked up since 2019 here in Englewood, and ever since then, I really got into drawing. I'm wondering if my work is good enough to send it that way and hope someone likes my work; I’ve got a long time to serve and this will help me out. I still want to get better than this, and I need supplies to do that; please help me sell them." - Leon Dosela.

We are collecting art to produce a coffee table book highlighting works by those that are incarcerated. Through art, we are bridging the gap between incarcerated individuals and the world outside.

In-prison programs that help rehabilitate individuals have proliferated in every state across the United States—with prison art programs among the most prominent and effective. For the men and women inside, art has been used as medicine, as a way to process the world and as a path to healing — not to mention developing the core skills that employers require. Extensive research affirms the strong linkage between the development of the right brain and arts education and practice, which leads to greater emotional self-regulation.

Participation in Art for Redemption creates opportunities for these artists to pay child support, victim restitution and other societal debts. We also partner with social justice and criminal justice reform organizations, and will donate a percentage of all sales to various social justice and prison reform organizations.
