Looking back at some of my old photoshoots, I realize how much of the process was shared with other people. A lot of the time, someone else was doing my makeup, helping create the look, or helping bring the vision to life.
And there’s nothing wrong with that. Artists need people, collaboration, and community.
But now I look at those photos differently. I see the version of me who was still learning how to create, how to show up, and how to trust her own vision. Today, I’m learning to do more of it myself, from the makeup to the styling to the creative direction.
The photos may be old, but the woman in them was already becoming the artist I am today.
