SEDONA has a way of making you feel very small and very alive at the same time.

This piece was inspired by the layers between the red rocks and the sky.

Layers of wax and pigment became my version of that landscape. Less a painting of Sedona and more a memory of how it felt.

Sometimes the paintings change right alongside me.

This piece has more layers than I can count. Wax. Pigment. Scraping things off. Starting over. Changing my mind.

What started as a place to put grief slowly made room for other things. Joy being one of them.

That’s one of the things I love about encaustic. Nothing really disappears. Every layer leaves traces behind.

And sometimes what shows up in the end is something you never planned for.

One of the most special parts of creating abstract work is watching how differently each person experiences the same piece.

Some people see movement.
Some see landscape.
Some see weather.
Some only see wax.

Nobody’s perspective is the same. Nobody’s is right. And nobody’s is wrong.

I love imagining the kind of atmosphere my pieces can bring into a space. And the types of thoughts and conversations they can spark.

If you’re interested in this 24 x 24 piece or a custom piece for your own space, feel free to send me a message. And if you’re new here, welcome.

Satisfying moments from this piece 🌊 🎨

This experience is still a little hard for me to put into words. Six years ago, I had no idea where any of this was going.

Now I'm standing in Laguna Beach looking at the largest commissioned piece I've created to date hanging on a wall.

A lot of this journey has been learning, failing, adjusting, and resisting the urge to quit every time something didn't work.

Six years ago, none of this existed. Now it does. And that fills me with a ridiculous amount of gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me, supported me, collected my work, and followed along as I've figured this out in real time. 🔥

And if you're interested in having me create something for your space, I'd love to hear from you. Send me a DM or visit the link in my bio.

Proof that some things in life actually come together quickly. ✨🔥

Watching pigment melt and mix will never not be satisfying to me. The color, the movement, the texture… one of my favorite parts of the process every single time.

This was one of the first paintings where I really started scraping back into the wax.

Up until then, I was mostly focused on adding layers.

This piece taught me that sometimes what’s underneath is the interesting part.

10 years together. Somewhere along the way my husband became my unpaid art consultant and creative collaborator.

HR is still reviewing his request for compensation.
