We're shining a light on The Community Drop: Audacity of Belief by DFW Hype—an event that brings together vision, collaboration, and giving back.

In addition to sharing the vision for a Dallas–Fort Worth production in active development, attendees can support Community Partners of Dallas through a back-to-school drive for local youth. Donations can be made on-site or by bringing much-needed school supplies.

We’re proud to spotlight Black Butterflies, a feature documentary written and directed by Denton Black Film Festival alum Starling Thomas. Told through the lens of her own wrongful incarceration, the film exposes how federal conspiracy laws have disproportionately impacted Black women, their families, and their communities.

Since a successful Seed&Spark campaign last year, Black Butterflies has completed four additional days of production, begun working with story consultants, and continues to build momentum following a recent project pitch in New York. With production now approximately halfway complete, the team is continuing to raise funds to bring this important story to the screen.
