Chris here!
Erica and I are really excited about this project and we are calling it THE HISTORY OF HUMAN SEXUALITY and framing it in a RadioLab style of presentation. If you aren't familiar with RadioLab, I highly recommend it as an example of taking a hypothesis or starting point and exploring the subject through science, individual experiences and experts in the field.

While we are dealing with a decidedly touchy subject, this kind of thoughtful, funny and touching exploration is not only necessary but something that allows people who don't have the same experience that you do, to empathize and connect with someone else. We fear what we do not understand.

If you want to share your story but don't want to use your own name because of some sensitive nature, that is ok! If you want your name all over it and you want to participate in the creation of it and be front and center, that is ok too! We are flexible...

Submissions and Actors Needed!

Denton Performance Lab is excited to get working on our show for the Summer!
This year we are doing a collaborative work dealing with Sexuality.

We are looking to pick 5-7 stories/scenes/songs/artistic pieces dealing with:
Sexuality
Sexual experiences (not necessary in*******se related)
Society and sexuality and how it has effected you.

We are in need of:
Written submissions
actors/participants
Musicians
Movement focused performers
Puppeteers
Everyday folks with something to say

Deadline for submissions is Friday June 24th

Notification of selected material and performers will be on Monday June 27th
Please let us know if you are interested in performing your written submission.
Please be aware that written submissions maybe be edited for purposes of dramatization. If you are not ok with this please let us know. We strive to honor the vision of the artists and their work. :)

Material dealing with adult themes and language is welcomed, we like the weird stuff!

Rehearsal Period- beginning July 5th in Denton, times will be determined based of scheduling conflicts of the cast

Performance- July 30th
