The Murchison, or "MPAC", features two premiere venues: the Margot and Bill Winspear Performance Hall and the Lyric Theater, along with several support and event rooms.

WIND SYMPHONY PERFORMS: This Thursday evening at 7:30, Eugene Migliaro Corporon conducts the North Texas Wind Symphony performing works by Cindy McTee, Margaret Bonds, Tyler Ehrlich, Aaron Copland, Dennis Llinás and the Paul Hindemith Organ Concerto (Kammermusik No. 7, Op. 46 No. 2), featuring organ soloist Malcolm Matthews all in the Murchison Performing Arts Center.

UNIVERSITY SINGERS AND CAMERATA IN CONCERT: Tomorrow night at 7:30, Marques L. A. Garrett, conducts University of North Texas University Singers presenting LIFT EVERY VOICE that will include “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by J. Rosamond Johnson, arr. Roland M. Carter celebrating the 100th anniversary of the premiere of the piece; the Negro spiritual, “We Shall Walk Through the Valley in Peace,” arranged by Undine Smith Moore and “The Lee Shore” by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor in celebration of his 150th birthday. Other works by Charles Gabriel, arr. Zanaida Stewart Robles, Marques L. A. Garrett and Dorothy Rudd Moore are planned.

Kathryn Davidson and Robby Napoli lead Camerata in presenting, IN EVERY CORNER, A SONG: VOICES OF PRAISE AND BELONGING. “This program traces a path from exultant praise to quiet reflection, from remembrance to a rising strength that does not yield, but lifts. In every corner of the world, the indominable human spirit sings of beauty, memory, struggle and hope. The concert includes a new work, “Summer Showers” by Christen Holmes and compositions by Andrea Ramsey, Ola Gjeilo, Heinrich Schütz, Zanaida Robles, Eleanor Daley, Lajos Bardos and Jake Runestad.

CONCERT ORCHESTRA PERFORMS WEDNESDAY: Assistant Principal Oboist for the Cleveland Orchestra, Jeffrey Rathbun, joins the UNT Concert Orchestra as Clay Couturiaux conducts “Françaix L’horoge de flore” (The Flower Clock) with Jeffrey Rathbun, oboe, who will also perform his composition “Remembrance.” Filling out the concert will be the Carl Maria von Weber: “Oberon”: Overture and Ottorino Respighi’s “Pines of Rome.”
