We are proud of you, Mark!
Mark earned the Outstanding Performer award from Texas State Solo and ensemble competition in May! This distinction is awarded to fewer than 3% of participants statewide. Denton ISD’s school board recognized Mark last night.

Welcome to the Guyer Zone, Ms. Cummings!!!!

Denton ISD Fine Arts welcomes Harpool Middle School Orchestra Director Ms. Karlee Cummings!

Ms. Cummings holds an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, a B.A. in Music, and a B.S. in Music Education from the University of Connecticut. She has performed in the UConn Symphony Orchestra and various chamber ensembles. Ms. Cummings has experience teaching private lessons, musical theater courses, and has previously served as an elementary music and beginner orchestra teacher. She is passionate about guiding students toward a meaningful life filled with music making. Her musical interests include gigging and serving on the worship team at her church as a vocalist and keyboard player.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the students who traveled to Austin to perform in the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition. The students listed below earned Superior ratings for Gold Medals, or Excellent ratings for a Silver Medal.
Special shout out to sophomore bassist Mark Eads for earning the coveted Outstanding Performer of the Day award from his judge (only seven other Guyer orchestra students have ever earned this honor in the history of the school.)

Congratulations to the 13 Guyer Orchestra students who were honored at the top 10% Honor Graduates Dinner tonight! We are proud of your accomplishments!

Bravo to all the students who performed beautifully on our Orchestra Spring Concert! All State Orchestra, Choir, and Band students were featured, and the Guyer wind symphony joined the orchestra for two symphonic works! Lastly, the entire orchestra program joined together on stage for Scenes from Swan Lake and the traditional end of year The Windmills of Your Mind, dedicated to our graduating seniors!
