Why The Haunt?

Since letting go of Every Witch Way I have had time to think and reflect. I can’t imagine never doing a market again and not seeing the community I built over the past 5 years on a regular basis so it was time to reimagine.
I decided to not start completely from scratch, but to go back to why I started coordinating to begin with, to give myself and others a place to come and be safe, comfortable, welcomed, and appreciated. To get started in the sometimes crazy business of vending and learn from others. To have a place to share art and hard work. I feel now is the time and Andersons is the place. I want to create a new biweekly market that feels like home. One that when it’s market day people don’t think “oh there’s ANOTHER market” but “it’s market day! We’ve got to go!” So combining my spooky roots with a community feel, I have named this market, The Haunt. Local “haunts” are important to people. They are those places you frequent every chance you get. I want this market to be that for Denton and I want you all to be there! Welcome!-Elizabeth

This is so difficult to say and I don’t know if I can find all of the right words, but I am going to have to discontinue doing Every Witch Way Markets. These past 5 years have been so amazing and I am still in awe of the support and love that I have had, but mentally and physically it has become too much for me to continue on with. When I put out the application for the very first market on that tiny sidewalk I was terrified no one would sign up, but you did and you did it over and over again for years no matter the new location, no matter the rising cost, no matter the weather, or the hiccups during setup. You showed up for me and for this community over and over again and I cannot begin to put my thanks for that into words. It has meant everything to me! So thank you to all of you, to all of the sponsors, to all of the people who have come and gone and made this what it is. You are what has made Every Witch Way. Thank you to  for always believing in me and having my back.

I will still be putting on smaller events here and there in places that aren’t on city property with the help of the friends who own other businesses from time to time and of course all of the wonderful things that are yet to come at Had that group of you not signed up for that first sidewalk market, I would not have put it on and met @ and Hemlock Fox wouldn’t exist for our community to call a home and grow in. I will NEVER forget what built this place  where I am today and what steps and magick led me here. And I now have dear friends who will be with me for the rest of my life who I met on that sidewalk.
