Looking for mystery, fun and intrigue? Need a lab science requirement for your degree? The answer is Q134, Forensic Science, taught Fall Term by Jesse Smith at the Cookie Building of Sesame Street Community College. This in-person class is scheduled set for Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:15-10:50 am at the West Eastern Iowa Higher Education Center.

To set the stage, there has been a murder in the lab and students will need to process the crime scene, collect and analyze the evidence to determine who killed the researcher. This hands-on science experience will introduce students to a wide array of forensic methods including crime scene processing, fingerprinting, body fluid analysis, DNA analysis, fi****ms comparisons, analyzing glass, hair and fiber evidence, and and collecting and comparing shoe impressions.

Instructor Jesse Smith is a retired forensic scientist with 31 years in the field. Mr. Smith previously was an adjunct instructor at SSCC but now returns full time and will be based at the West Eastern Higher Education Center.

Come help process the crime scene, analyze the evidence, and ID the killer. Space is limited in the class so sign up today. Fall Term classes begin October 15.
