Solo Ballroom Line Dancing with Karen of Cape Sands Ballroom returns today for a summer-only session!

Beginning Wednesday, June 17, join us weekly from 10:15–11:15 AM at the Dennis Center for Active Living, 1045 Route 134, South Dennis.

$10 drop-in (cash or check payable to "Dennis Senior Center")

Open to everyone—you do not need to be a Dennis resident. No partner required.

This class is designed for graduates of a Beginner Line Dancing course or dancers with equivalent experience.

What is Solo Ballroom Line Dancing? It is a unique line dance experience featuring dances inspired by ballroom favorites such as rumba, cha cha, swing, foxtrot, merengue, tango, and more. Every dance is taught and fully cued, making it easy to focus on the music and enjoy the dance floor.

Most dances are available on CopperKnob, although songs are often swapped to create a more ballroom-inspired experience.

If you enjoy classic music and ballroom-style dancing, this class is for you.

Your favorite line dances are lighting up the charts this week! "You're a Superstar," "Jive All Night," "Ziggy," and "Shimmer" are all currently ranked among CopperKnob's Top 15 dances and will be on tonight's (6/9/26) playlist at the Dennis Center for Active Living Line Dance Party with Deejay Karen.

Join us at 5:30 PM at 1045 MA-134, South Dennis, MA 02660. No need to be a Dennis resident—everyone age 18 and older is welcome. Admission is $10 (cash or check payable to Dennis Senior Center).

Discover line dancing with Karen at DCAL — a great way to spend your Tuesday evenings! Enjoy a fun-packed hour of line dancing set to a wide variety of familiar, feel-good music spanning rock, pop, country, Latin, and R&B. Beginners and beyond are welcome. 18+. Light refreshments and a door prize add to the party atmosphere!

DCAL offers a spacious gathering place with plenty of room to move freely. The evening blends easy walk-through instruction, favorite classics, and open dancing in a relaxed, social setting. New dancers can pick up skills and dances regularly throughout the hour with warm encouragement, while experienced dancers will also enjoy dancing familiar favorites and a variety of selections.

Whether you come to learn, practice, socialize, or simply enjoy the music and movement, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere and the chance to dance at your own comfort level.

Join us weekly on Tuesday evenings beginning June 2 for a fun, healthy, social hobby you’ll look forward to each week! Feeling very grateful after our beginner semester at DCAL together. Thank you to my wonderful students for the thoughtful cards, flowers, and kind words — and for months of laughter, learning, and dancing together. Have you marked your calendar for the next Ballroom, Latin and Swing Dance Party with Pre-Dance Lesson at Dennis Center for Active Living?! You'll find plenty of off-street parking, and a friendly crowd of singles and couples of all dance levels. Join Karen of Cape Sands Ballroom in the Theater Room at DCAL on Tuesday afternoon, June 2nd at 1:00 for a beginner Tango lesson (no partner needed). Following the lesson, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm we'll have general dancing to fine recorded ballroom, Latin, swing and specialty tunes. Also featuring “mingles tables” (get to know other dancers who are attending without a partner), a mixer or two and a couple of line dances. Light refreshments. Door prize! West Coast Swing is a smooth, modern partner dance with roots in the lively Lindy Hop of the 1940s. Known for its sleek, gliding style, it’s danced to everything from R&B to pop and today’s hits. Singles and couples welcome — no experience needed! $10 walk-in cash or check payable to “Dennis Senior Center”. Not yet a DCAL member?
