Parks and Recreation District #3
PARDS was created by the Livingston Parish Council in 1973 as a separate distinct body whose purpose is to develop, maintain and operate public park recreational facilities for all the people of Old Ward 2. Today we have three parks within our system: North Park, South Park, and L.M. Lockhart Park.
North Park is the largest of the parks in the park system with over 110 acres. Facilities include a multi-purpose recreational center, Fitness and Aquatics Center, Aqua PARDS water park, golf driving range, track, tennis courts, pavilions, playground equipment, soccer fields and baseball/softball fields.
Our second largest park is South Park, covering 60 acres. Facilities include a horse riding arena, playground equipment and pavilions.
West Livingston, L.M. Lockhart Park, is the third largest park in the system covering about 11 acres. Facilities include an air conditioned community center, playground equipment, outdoor basketball courts, walking track and gymnasium.
