🤍 Today was an extra-special day at Whispering Oaks in more ways than one. 🤍

Today happens to be our wedding anniversary, and after Jay and I spent a little time together celebrating this afternoon, there was somewhere very important we wanted to be—we made it back to Whispering Oaks because we simply couldn’t miss the wedding of two very special people, Deaga and Lee.

Deaga and Lee have worked alongside us for several years, and they have become such a special part of our Whispering Oaks family. It was truly an honor to have them choose the venue they’ve poured so much of themselves into as the place where they would begin their own marriage. 🤍

I had the sweetest privilege of helping Deagaclip in and fluff her veil before the ceremony, and then Jay and I held the doors open as she and her dad made their way toward the aisle. Those are moments I won’t soon forget.

And what a day they were given! The weather could not have been more beautiful, and neither could the bride. Everything about their day was simply lovely.✨

There was something especially meaningful about celebrating our own anniversary today and then getting to witness the beginning of Deaga and Lee’s marriage in the very place where we’ve watched so many love stories begin.

Congratulations, Deaga & Lee! We pray your marriage is blessed with a lifetime of love, laughter, friendship, faith, and many beautiful years together.

It was an honor to be a small part of your very special day. We love and appreciate you both so much! 🤍

✨ A BIG shoutout to True North Creative! ✨

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming True North Creative to Whispering Oaks Venue, and we are so excited about these beautiful images he captured of our property! 🤍

The connection actually came about in such a fun and unexpected way. A little over a week ago, I received a phone call from a gentleman who attends First Church, asking if they could come out and film a music video here on our property. Of course, we said YES! 🎶

They fell in love with our white wedding chapel and spent some time here capturing footage for their upcoming video. We can’t wait to see the finished product!

During our conversation, I mentioned that we were looking for a photographer to help us update some of the photos on our website. He told me, “I’m a photographer!” — and the rest is history. 😊

He came back and captured these stunning shots of our newly painted barn, our newer outdoor seating area, and some beautiful views looking toward our wedding chapel.

I absolutely LOVE the clean, timeless look he gave these photos. They capture Whispering Oaks so beautifully, and we are so grateful for the collaboration!

Thank you, True North Creative, for coming out and helping us showcase our little piece of the country in such a beautiful way. We’re looking forward to seeing that music video, too! 🎥🤍

TONIGHT,
THE PRETTY HAS A PURPOSE. 🤍

Today is the day—our very first Pretty With Purpose Social!

Earlier this year, I had an idea: bring women together for a night of women supporting women—shopping, food, mocktails, music, dancing, connection, incredible vendors and organizations—and use it to support something much bigger.

That “something bigger” is the heart behind In Her Words Ministries.

My story and Micah Miller’s story are not the same, but there are threads so many survivors recognize—grooming, coercion, manipulation, control, spiritual abuse, and the misuse of trust and authority.

I want .
I want justice for survivors.
But I also want PREVENTION.

I want parents, schools, churches, homes, youth organizations, coaches, and communities educated about grooming and equipped with safeguards, protocols, healthy boundaries, and accountability.

Because we cannot prevent what we have never been taught to recognize.

This is why I do what I do.

As a Certified Mental Health & Emotional Recovery Coach, with additional certifications in Human Trafficking Awareness and Abuse & the Church, this has become a huge part of my mission:
EDUCATE.
ADVOCATE.
EMPOWER.

And THAT is the purpose behind the pretty. ✨

Tonight will be FUN—but every ticket purchased, every vendor participating, every volunteer serving, and every person supporting this event is also helping raise funds and resources for In Her Words Ministries so this work can continue.

My prayer is that Pretty With Purpose becomes an annual event that grows bigger, reaches farther, and impacts more women every year.

It’s all in the details. 🤍

I was in the barn late last night adding the final touches for today’s wedding, and this beautiful photo backdrop was one of them.

I decided to add the white backdrop panel behind the frame because, well… no one needs an electrical box photobombing their wedding pictures. 😂 Then I added a little greenery to soften the white and tie everything together.

And because apparently I can’t help myself when it comes to details, I even added a cream ribbon to the back to anchor the greenery and finished it with a bow. Will anyone ever see it back there? Probably not. But I know it’s there. 🤍

That’s the part of decorating I love—the little things that may never be noticed individually, but somehow make everything feel finished.

I had the honor of decorating for today’s bride and groom, and I truly put my heart into it. Jay and I could have used a night out last night, but instead we spent the evening right here, making sure everything was just right for this sweet couple.

Today, we’ll be standing at those big double doors, opening them as the bridal party and then the bride make their way down the aisle. I never take for granted what an honor it is to be such a hands-on part of the weddings held here at Whispering Oaks.

And next Friday, this same little corner will become part of something else that has been on my heart since January—Pretty with Purpose. 💕 It’ll be our Spotlight Corner and a beautiful place for girlfriends to gather and capture some memories together.

One backdrop. Two very different celebrations. Both very special to my heart.

But today belongs to the bride and groom. 🤍

’Twas the night before the wedding… 🤍

I had the honor of being hired to decorate for tomorrow’s sweet bride, and tonight, while putting some of the finishing touches in place, I grabbed a little video of one of my favorite details—the dessert station.

These beautiful vintage serving trays date back to approximately the 1940s–1960s, and tomorrow evening they’ll be filled with desserts and become part of a brand-new wedding story. ✨

There’s just something I love about mixing the old with the new. Pieces with a little age, history and character bring so much charm and create that collected, eclectic feel that makes a space feel extra special.

Tomorrow, these old beauties get to shine again. ✨

✨ A Little Front Entrance Update from Whispering Oaks! 🤍

If you’ve been following along this summer, you’ve probably seen this project coming together little by little. This past week, the stonework was added to our new entrance pillars, and we are getting SO close!

After a few weather delays, things are moving along nicely, and next week the gates will finally be installed! 🙌

We’ll still be adding the Whispering Oaks name, along with beautiful lantern-style lighting to finish everything off, but we couldn’t wait to share the progress.

We think this new entrance is going to add such a beautiful wow factor when you arrive at the property. 🤍

Stay tuned… I can’t wait to show you the finished entrance! ✨

Sometimes the very best moments of a wedding day happen at the very end. 🤍

This sweet couple chose to end their night with a sparkler send-off, surrounded by the people they love. And what a beautiful shot! ✨
