We are glad Nick's injuries were not any worse than they were and glad he was able to return to the festival before the end of the day. We wish him a full and speedy recovery and hope to see him and the rest of the band down the road.
Things were going so well this weekend, until they went a little sideways (in this case, "they" being Nick's kneecap 😅)
At the end of our set at Buttermilk Jamboree, Nick boldly finished his "Into the Eye" instrumental with a stage dive over a little fence. He cleared the fence, but in his words... "I didn't stick the landing." His feet went South for the winter, while his kneecap ended up going more West for the Fall (literally).
After a lovely ambulance ride, ER visit, and X-rays, we were very grateful it was just a dislocation that they could relocate, splint, and send us on our way without surgery! We headed back to the festival that night with crutches & a new-found appreciation for our own mortality. Best part was, the headliner that night was named "Knee-Deep S**g".
HUGEEEE thank-you to all the volunteers & attendees at Buttermilk Jamboree who quickly sprung into action and took such incredible care of us! Safe to say, it was a festival we'll never forget. Buttermilk Jamboree will forever be immortalized as the location of Nick's last stage dive.
We've had a lot of fun coming up with puns regarding this situation. Here are a few of our best ones. Please comment yours:
"More like Buttermilk Jam-your-KNEE, amiright?"
"What genre do you play? Folk and roll"
"Nick had to go and get all bent of of shape right before our set ended"
PS - Nick will be off his feet for the next few weeks, but you best believe all scheduled shows are going ahead as planned!
PPS - yes, the whole thing was filmed on multiple videos & yes, will be shared later this week 😂
