The Funky Dinosaurs The Funky Dinosaurs are available to play for Florida parties, barbecues and reunions. Ted Knight founded an oldies band called the Convertibles in the 1980s.

Around 2005, he changed the name to Crosswind to go with a move toward more modern repertoire. When Ted reached his 60s he was ready to concentrate on real rock and roll, and joining forces with dynamite lead guitarist Hugh Fox made it possible. Ted's longtime drummer Larry Ruda and dynamic lead vocalist Greg Szczesniak complete the group. The result, a powerful new sound and a new name for the ba

nd, The Funky Dinosaurs. Funky D is playing more Beatles, Stones, Creedence and Clapton than ever before, and for the first time, making Led Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Doors and The Who part of the mix. The funky dinosaurs started as a partnership between me on keyboard and the late Hugh Fox on lead guitar I met Hugh when we both played with not just George a rock band led by George shellac Showak. This Saturday the dinosaurs and George will work together again we're playing for a private party at a house in Boynton Beach were gonna rock for sure but also do some Christmas songs. And funky D singer Frankie rock will revert to his alter ego Frankie Love to do some Sinatra materiatool I hope to hear him sing Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I plan to sing happy Christmas war is over the John Lennon Christmas standard covered so well by Jimmy Buffett Meanwhile George e and Eugene Gray will be on guitar when we doan instrumental called Linus and Lucy. Remember? This was the super catchy piano theme written and recorded by Vince G uARaLdi for the Charlie Brown Christmas specials by the way, I'm still open for New Year's Eve either with the funky dinosaur or doing jazz, standards and variety big band style either as the Ted Knight orchestra or the world's smallest big band send us a message and will come and let us help you ring in the new year in style.

We gave our dear friend Hugh Foxa proper sendoff Saturday, a Memorial dinner at a West Palm Beach restaurant. friends and family spoke movingly and the other members of the band played mellow songs fopirer late ;ead guitarist s. I sang bridge over troubled water and even played some keyboard bas despite considerable left-hand impairment s. I was delighted that my playing and singing were much better than the last time I tried it guitarist Eugene Grey assured me that the improvement is real. Thank you, God. The Funky Dinosaurs will ride again, God willing

we rocked a 4th of july house party in boynton beach. larry, frank and i cooled off in the pool on break. it was brutally hot lisa joined frank on vocals and they were great. hughplayed killer guitar as usual

Meet the funky Dinosaurs pictured is Teddy T (for tyrranosaurus Rex ,the alter ego of founder and ketboardist .ted Knight tTed's better known for big bands, but he's always been a rocker at heart)Teddy started life as a character in a video game When the game didn't’ sell, His creator set him free to roam the public domain,Ted adopted him, and called some fellow rockers to start a band that wouldplay classic rock and greatest hits. Ted started withhe Beatles, Stones and led zeppelin adding everything from Creedence and clapton to huey lewis, bob Dylan, bob Marley, Johnny cash, Willie Nelson, and the Eagles . TEddy writes the arrangements andcalls the tunes. The late Hugh foxwas on lead guitar,crafty like his nsme thefxoasaurus drew on a lifetime of practice to play lead lines from :jimmy Page, eric Clapton and all the greats. Larryuda drums theudasaurusdrives the band like a madman. Think Animal from the Muppet Show.
Eugene grey started on second l guitar and bass and and has now moved up to lead guitar Eugene also directs backup vocals.the Greyman doesn’twear grey, preferring the bright colors of his native Jamaica. although not a coffee drinker himself. he keeps the other Dinosaurs happy with occasional gifts of primo Blue Mountain java from home. Bassist len rovinelli, plays record-copy bass lines on hundreds of tunes from the band's vast repertoire Singers frankie rock and LiLi complete the band, adding soaring leads and heavenly harmonies,.andFankie doubles drums and congas Harry James subs on guitar and bass when needed as "dinosaur for a day," Teddy T says, why settle for a Dj when you can have a good live band instead, ready to rock a party, cookout, or reunion near you. You’ve worked hard, and now that you can finally afford a band, why not go for it?

Larry is back, having come through hospitalization for a serious illness. thanks to Frank for filling in on drums while Larry was recuperating. It's all good now and Larry sounds better than ever, just in time for our next gig, a house party on the Fourth of July

This is the 45th anniversary of Zeppelin IV - the album had no title but came to be IV because it was the group's fourth album. The Funky Dinosaurs play 2 songs from this historic album---Rock and Roll and Stairway to Heaven, one of the greatest rock songs of all time.
